The Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation has offered valuable opportunity to promote Korean culture among multicultural families who are unfamiliar with the Korean culture.
Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation and Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea jointly held the event for “Cultural experience of life in the royal palace’ over a period of 1 night and 2 days, beginning from May 31, for the multicultural families in Dongducheon.
This event was held for 25 multicultural family members residing in Dongducheon and provided a diverse range of program for experiencing the royal court cultures including accommodation at the Tongmyeongjeon, royal court etiquettes and costumes, and tea ceremony in the Changgyeonggung, as well as an opportunity to tour the royal tombs and the former capital city, Hanyang, of the Joseon Dynasty.
This is the 4th year of the event held by the Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea and the Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation has been participating in the event for 3 years in a row since 2011 through corporate sponsorship.
A person related to the Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation stated that, “we will lead in provision of a diverse range of rights to enjoy culture by the culturally alienated classes through cultural relics and assets exploration events in Gyeonggi-do in addition to the 1 night 2 day cultural experience of the life in the royal court in Changgyeonggung” and that, “we hope the participants will become more familiar with the Korean culture.”
Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation is also leading in protecting local cultural assets through “Keepers of the Korea Cultural Assets” activities in addition to providing opportunity for experiencing of a diverse range of cultures for the alienated classes of the society.
