Hosted by the Gyeonggi Contents Agency (GCA), the Good Game Show Korea 2014 closed on May 25 after a three-day run.
According to the GCA on May 27, this exhibition achieved record results by attracting 60,000 visitors in three days and generating export contracts worth USD 24 million (KRW 24.5616 billion), exceeding the targeted amount of USD 20 million.
Of particular note, the export fair also featured the Invitational Global Buyer Business Matching Event that included the participation of overseas publishers and investors. As a result, companies like iTree Works and App Cross realized remarkable export outcomes.
Major global companies including Microsoft, Sony Computer Entertainment Korea, Intel, IBM, Google, and NC Soft Cultural Foundation submitted various convergence contents to the show including functional games and educational contents.
Celebrating its 6th anniversary this year, the exhibition gained the attention of many visitors with playgrounds delineated by generation as well as experiential contents for all family members to enjoy. The show thus proved its real worth as the largest family entertainment venue in the first-half year.
Under the theme of “Play Growth!”, the Good Game Show consisted of 459 booths with the participation of 301 companies from 16 countries including the U.S. and the Netherlands. The exhibition included the Exhibition and Experience Pavilion, Theme Pavilion, Special Exhibition, and International Pavilion, as well as conferences, an export fair, the Coexistence Forum, and other events.
“This year’s Good Game Show realized remarkable growth both in quality and quantity, exceeding targets in terms of the number of visitors and the amount of content exports,” said CGA Director Choi Dong-wook. “Through convergence between the Good Game Show and various fields, we will develop this into a leading convergence contents show and global exhibition for the first half of the year.”
Last year, the Good Game Show had attracted 50,000 visitors and recorded export contracts worth USD 16.5 million.
