The Korea Ceramic Foundation announced on May 27 that it will designate the last Wednesday of every month as Ceramic Tour Day starting from May 28.
The foundation is designating the last Wednesday of every month as Ceramic Tour Day and will open all exhibition facilities at the Icheon Cerapia Creation Center (World Ceramic Center), Gwangju Gyeonggi Ceramic Museum, and Yeoju Dojasesang Bandal Art Museum on that day.
The Foundation also plans to provide various ceramics events such as invitational experiences related to ceramics. As part of the Ceramic Tour Day events on May 28, Icheon Cerapia hosted exhibitions entitled An Ode to Blue – BLUE and Ceramics with Ecology, as well as a special exhibition entitled Ceramics of Asia 2014, while also opening ceramics studios that seek to integrate ceramics and other fields.
The Gyeonggi Ceramic Museum offers the Ceramic Culture Hall and an exhibition of collections where visitors can learn about the past and present of ceramics, while the Bandal Art Museum will host Korea Ceramics 100 V, which displays a relay of 100 daily life ceramic makers, and The Moment Exhibition, which reminisces about happy moments in life.
“We’re opening up the gates to Incheon Cerapia, the Gwangju Gyeonggi Ceramic Museum and Yeoju Dojasesang,” said Lee Wan-hee, President of the Korea Ceramic Foundation. “We hope everyone and their families will enjoy a memorable day with ceramics.”
