Gyeonggi Province Holds IR Session to Attract Investment from China

Gyeonggi Province held an IR session for key businessmen from China at 2PM yesterday, July 3, at KINTEX.
Seventy representatives from 59 companies in the manufacturing and real-estate development sectors who are accompanying the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, on his visit to Korea, such as Macrolink Real Estate Co., Ltd., were present at the IR session. They were briefed on the investment environment of Gyeonggi Province and some success cases of Chinese investment in the Province, such as the ARA Hotel in Gimpo and Juksan Tourism Complex in Anseong.
Gyeonggi Province introduced some of its major development projects, such as Hallyu World, Yellow Sea Free Economic Zone and Pyeongtaek Lake Tourism Complex and also explained its investment promotion policies. After the IR session, the group took a tour of the sites of Hallyu World and Paju condominium projects.
In addition, Choi Sung, mayor of Goyang City, Kim Yoon-shik, mayor of Siheung City and Park Tae-soo, vice mayor of Paju City attended the session and presented the investment environment of KINTEX, Siheung Baegot New Town and Paju City, respectively.
Choi Hyun-deok, Assistant Governor for Economy and Investment of Gyeonggi Province, requested that the Chinese investers have interest in the Province and said, “Chinese companies will be able to carry out successful businesses if they invest in hotels and tourism related facilities since the number of Chinese visitors to Korea is increasing rapidly”.
In January, Gyeonggi Province signed an MOU with Shen Yang Wan Shund Da Group in the amount of US$ 300 million to develop Anseong Juksan Tourism Complex. And in February, Gyeonggi signed an MOU with ED-SUN Hong Kong for the development of a hotel in Gimpo City in the amount of US$ 80 million.
