Beauty product trade promotion delegation dispatched to Russia from May 26 to 31

A joint trade promotion delegation dispatched by Gyeonggi Province and the Small and Medium Business Administration (SMBA) returned on June 1 after facilitating the successful Russian market entry of small and medium-sized companies involved in the beauty industry within the province.

According to a provincial announcement on June 2, Gyeonggi Province, the SMBA and the GSBC dispatched the 2014 Russia Beauty Product Trade Promotion Delegation from May 26 to June 1 for a total of 82 consultations worth a combined value of USD 29 million (KRW 30 billion).

The delegation was organized in partnership between Gyeonggi Province and SMBA, and 10 promising small and medium-sized firms based in the province joined the delegation to provide one-on-one consultations to local buyers. The delegation hosted consultation sessions at the Moscow Trade Center on May 27 and the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry on May 29.

During the sessions, EDK Spa Solution, a cosmetic producer, was offered an exclusive contract with one of the leading cosmetic distributors in Moscow. Beginning with an initial order valued at of USD 100,000, the company expects to sign a contract worth USD 2 million in the near future.

“We’ve overcome many challenges to enter the Russian market stemming from the language barrier, cultural differences and customs. Thanks to help from Gyeonggi Province and the SMBA, we were able to establish a foothold for entry into the Russian market,” said a representative from Care Co., Ltd.
