– Gyeonggi Province signs agreement for investment attraction with China’s Beijing Bridging Consulting Co., Ltd.
The Gyeonggi Province and Beijing Bridging Consulting Co., Ltd. , agreed to work together to attract investment in development projects implemented in Gyeonggi-do under the agreement signed by both parties in a brief ceremony held in Gyeonggi Governor’s Office on August 4.
The signing ceremony was attended by Governor Nam Kyung-pil, CEO Zhangmingzhou of Beijing Bridging Consulting Co., Ltd. , Mr. Choi Hyeon-deok , officer in charge of economy and investment of the provincial office, Mr. Song Ki-chull (former Secretary General of the Suwon World Cup Stadium Management Foundation), Mr. Han Woo-duk (Director, China Research Institute, The Joongang Ilbo), Chairman Kim Eon-sik of DSD Samho, etc.
Under said agreement, the Gyeonggi Province will introduce development projects to the Chinese business as required to attract investors. For its part, the Chinese business will introduce Chinese investors to the Gyeonggi Province.
The two parties agreed to hold a working-level meeting twice a month to discuss the business.
“The relationship between the two countries has been upgraded to strategic cooperative partnership, and China has emerged as the largest trading partner of our country. The bilateral relations were further cemented with President Xi Jin-ping’s state visit to this country in July this year on the occasion of the 22nd year of reestablishment of diplomatic relationships,” Governor Nam Kyung-pil said.
Mr. Nam Kyung-pil noted that the number of Chinese visiting this country has recently increased rapidly (30%). The number is expected to reach the 20 million mark by 2018, he said. “The supply of a sufficient number of lodging facilities has become an urgent matter, and the agreement reached this time is very important in such regard. Please take considerable interest in our province and provide all-out support for our development projects,” he added.
According to Chairman Zhangmingzhou , their company has been selected as an institution participating in the project for reinforcing humanities-based partnership between the two countries. “I am deeply grateful to the Gyeonggi Province for its positive stance in the bilateral exchanges, and I hope that the agreement signed today will serve as another occasion to strengthen the friendship between the two countries,” he said.
China-based Beijing Bridging Consulting Co., Ltd., has branches in Qindao and Seoul. It engages in six sectors of business, such as intergovernmental exchanges, business joint ventures, and inter-industry buyer matching. Last month, it assumed a working-level role for the project of supplying LED materials worth 500 billion won to SKC of South Korea and TCL Group of China. In 2013, it signed tourism business agreements with the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, Pocheon-si, and Herb Island in Pocheon.
Commenting on said agreement, Mr. Choi Hyeon-deok , officer in charge of economy and investment of the provincial office, noted that the collaborative relationships between the province and China and between the two countries has great potential for development. “The agreement signed today will serve as steppingstone for greater opportunities for both parties. We sincerely hope that Beijing Bridging Consulting will play a positive role as an intermediary between us and Chinese investors,” he added.
