GSBC operates room equipped with breast pumps, sterilizers and more to encourage breastfeeding

The Gyeonggi Small and Medium Business Center (GSBC) was selected as a 2014 Mother-Baby Friendly Workplace by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family (MOGEF) and UNICEF.
The Mother-Baby Friendly Workplace campaign encourages companies to take the initiative in supporting breastfeeding employees so that mothers do not have to stop breastfeeding due to work.
GSBC has been operating a lounge for female employees who are pregnant or have an infant; this includes a private room equipped with breast pumps, sterilizers, a refrigerator and more for the needs of breastfeeding employees.
In order to establish a working environment for female workers with infants, GSBC also offers a variety of benefits such as maternity leave, childcare leave, paid maternity leave, childcare facilities, childbirth grants, tuition assistance for dependent children, a flexible benefit plan for dependents, weekend farms in Gwanggyo Techno Valley, family days, flexible time, and more.
Kim Tae-han, Director of GSBC’s Management Support Division, said, “Customer satisfaction starts with the satisfaction and happiness of employees.” He added, “We will continue to provide support to our employees so that outstanding female workers can maintain a healthy life by achieving a better balance between work and childcare.
A total of 12 companies received the 2014 Mother-Baby Friendly Workplace Award, including GSBC, Korea Otsuka Pharmaceutical, the National Institute for Lifelong Education, the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information, and the Korea Employment Information Service.
