○ Five selected people to be given an opportunity to visit BlizzCon® 2014 and Blizzard’s headquarters
○ Selection to be made for two weeks from October 1 through open competition

Blizzard Entertainment, the game developer famous for StarCraft and Diablo series, and Gyeonggi Province are jointly selecting young Koreans who will attend the onsite learning experience program BlizzCon® 2014.

The Gyeonggi Province said on October 1 that it will carry out the program Realize Your Dream, which will provide young people in the province with an opportunity to attend a computer game expo held in the United States, together with Blizzard Entertainment. The attendees will be selected during a two week-long period from October 1.

Cohosted by Blizzard and Gyeonggi Province and sponsored by Gyeonggi Content Agency, said program is being carried out to provide young people who are interested in game development and who help boost local game businesses’ global competitiveness as well as their parents with an opportunity to communicate and spend time together by engaging in games, an official of the provincial office said.

Those eligible for application are freshmen or juniors attending a high school specializing in game development, computer, and information technology in Gyeonggi-do. Applications should be submitted along with a letter of self-introduction after securing their parents’ consent and the school principal’s recommendation. Five people will be selected among the applicants.

The selected young people, each accompanied by a parent or a guardian, will be given an opportunity to attend the computer games expo BlizzCon® 2014 held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California on November 7 and 8, pay a visit to the headquarters of Blizzard Entertainment in Irvine, California, and meet with Blizzard Entertainment CEO & Co-Founder Mike Morhaime.

“We expect the program, which is participated in by students and their parents, to be another opportunity to foster a sound computer game culture in society,” a Gyeonggi Province official commented with regard to the program Realize Your Dream.

BlizzCon® is the world’s largest computer games expo hosted by a single game business. The one held in 2013 was attended by 25,000 fans, game developers, and artists from all over the world. Blizzard announces its newly developed major games and holds a demonstration event at the annual event. Community events for ordinary participants such as clothes contest and competitions for the selection of Esports world champion in sectors like StarCraft II, Hearth Stone, etc., are also held. Computer gamers regard the event as a dream stage.
