Gyeonggi Governor Nam Kyung-pil was selected as a metropolitan representative who made the best pledges during the June 4 local elections.

The Korea Manifesto Center announced the winners of the 2014 Manifesto Promise Awards on September 22, including Gyeonggi Province Governor Nam Kyung-pil and Seoul City Mayor Park Won-soon as winners of first-place awards in the category of election pledges.

Winners of the Manifesto Promise Awards are selected by the Korea Manifesto Center through an evaluation of the candidates’ pledges on the basis of their creativity, content and faithfulness.

Under the vision of a safe and warm community with a full range of jobs, Governor Nam offered 30 policy tasks in 6 areas as campaign pledges including: ① All Gyeonggi residents should be happy; and ② a safe and convenient transportation system.

A total of 11 metropolitan councils were evaluated, and Daegu City and South Chungcheong Province were awarded runner-up prizes.

An award ceremony will be held at the International Conference Hall of the Seoul Global Center at 4:40pm on October 1.
