Governor Nam Kyung-pil is visiting Japan for the first time after his inauguration to strengthen local diplomacy.
On December 10, the Gyeonggi Province disclosed that Governor Nam Kyung-pil will pay visits to Tokyo Governor Masuzoe Yoich and Kanagawa Governor Kuroiwa Yuji on a one-night, two-day schedule from December 12 to discuss ways of expanding mutual exchanges and promote economic and trade collaboration.
Tokyo Governor Masuzoe Yoich paid a visit to the Gyeonggi Governor at the latter’s office last July. Gyeonggi Province and Kanagawa Prefecture have maintained sisterly ties since 1990, engaging in exchanges in diverse areas including economy, culture, arts, and sports. Governor Nam Kyung-pil will meet with Governor Kuroiwa Yuji in Tokyo on the evening of December 12 and discuss ways of bolstering collaboration between the two provinces.
Following his inauguration as Gyeonggi Governor, Nam Kyung-pil has made efforts to strengthen local diplomacy, paying visits to the State of Virginia including the County of Fairfax of the United States, Freistaat Bayern of Germany, and Guangdong Province of China.
