Governor Nam Kyung-pil is currently visiting China to attend the Boao Forum for Asia, commonly referred to as the Davos Forum of Asia, on March 26-28 (two nights/three days).
The forum is being held in Boao, Hainan Province on March 26 – 29 under the theme “Asia’s New Future: Towards a Community of Common Destiny.”
During the forum, seventy-three official events will be held with the focus on macro-economy, regional cooperation, the ongoing shift in industrial structure, technological innovation, political security, public welfare, etc.
Governor Nam Kyung-pil will attend the Big Data Session held on the afternoon of March 27 under the theme of ‘The Other Side of Big Data’, with Chief Editor Qin Shuo of the China Business News presiding as a panelist.
The session will also be attended by business leaders and global experts, including Chairwoman Dong Mungzhu of Zhu hai Gree Corporation, Chairman Leif Johansson of Ericsson, President Jamie Lerner of Seagate Technology, also in charge of cloud systems and solutions, and Director Wu Hequan of the Internet Society of China to discuss restrictions on the use of Big Data, the protection of personal information, the right to anonymity, and energy consumption among other important topics.
Governor Nam Kyung-pil will present the Gyeonggi-do Big Data Initiative which includes the vision of providing efficient public services using Big Data and creating enormous business opportunities and new jobs, along with the need to enact international standards concerning the compatibility of Big Data and the protection of personal information.
