Gyeonggi Province and Rotary International District 3750 plan to promote employment for multinational families and will offer support to help them build their skillsets.

At 11:00am on July 1, Social Integration Vice Governor Lee Ki-woo and Rotary International District 3750 Chairman Kim Seok-tae signed an ‘MOU on mutual cooperation to promote and support employment of multinational families’, which detailed the employment of multinational families at member businesses of Rotary International District 3750, at Hotel Castle in Suwon.

According to the agreement, Rotary International District 3750 will employ multicultural families at their member businesses and undertake support projects to provide the education necessary for international marriage immigrants and their children. The Gyeonggi Provincial Government agreed to offer the necessary administrative support in promoting such employment and implementing the multicultural family project.

Rotary International District 3750, which operates in eight cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province including Suwon and Pyeongtaek, has 92 clubs and over 3,000 business locations.

In his address, Vice Governor Lee Ki-woo expressed his expectations for the project, saying, “Private entities investing in the diversity and potential of multicultural families illuminate our country’s future.”

Rotary International District 3750 Chairman Kim Seok-tae said, “This year’s slogan for Rotary International is ‘Be a Gift to the World’. We will do our best to ensure this project becomes a practical and beautiful gift to our neighbors, the local community, and multicultural families in particular.”

Gyeonggi Province signed an MOU with the Gyeonggi District Division of KOGAS and the Community Chest of Korea on May 30 to give multicultural families the opportunity to visit their home countries.
