Gyeonggi Province has prepared a platform to help local businesses in the water industry find overseas business opportunities.
The provincial government plans to invite overseas public officials and personnel from public corporations recommended by businesses across Gyeonggi Province that are currently pursuing water business opportunities overseas to a 7-day training program between September 13 and 19; the focus will be on support for overseas marketing.
This invitational training project offers a chance for participants to view the superiority of Gyeonggi Province’s water resource management in the field where water is processed with new technologies. This, in turn, is expected to help facilitate overseas expansion for businesses in the water industry across Gyeonggi Province.
Based on a public offering, a total of 8 guests including public officials and personnel from contractors in Malaysia and Thailand recommended by 3 companies in Gyeonggi Province have been selected for the program. Personnel involved in contract negotiations are on the list of participants for the program, heightening expectations for tangible results.
The invited guests will learn about water resource management policies in Gyeonggi Province and visit water/sewage facilities at Paldangho Lake, the water reservoir in Yangpyeong, and Hanam Union Park. The guests will also visit sites where new water-processing technologies are being applied such as Gugal Respia, and Gunpo Daeya Malggeumteo. In addition, a ‘Business Day’ will be provided to help the 3 companies that recommended program participants communicate with visitors and stakeholders.
On the morning of September 10, before the training program began, overseas participants had the opportunity to meet with Gyeonggi Province Social Integration Vice Governor Lee Ki-woo. Vice Governor Lee asked participants to maintain their interest in strengthening cooperative exchange in the water industry as well as their interest in businesses across Gyeonggi Province.
A Gyeonggi Province official reported, “This project is a chance to promote Gyeonggi Province’s outstanding water/sewage policies overseas, and an opportunity to help encourage exports for businesses across Gyeonggi Province involved in the water industry.” The official also said, “Gyeonggi Province will undertake a wide range of efforts to help businesses across Gyeonggi Province involved in the water industry explore overseas export opportunities.”
