Gyeonggi
Province hosts its
Vietnam Export Consultation event on November 8 in Ho Chi Minh City of the
Socialist Republic of
Vietnam to help companies in the water industry
across Gyeonggi Province expand into overseas markets. This consultation
session is part of Gyeonggi Province
s Gyeonggi Water Industry Development 5-year Comprehensive Plan. The event was planned to
stimulate the domestic market for the water industry.

Nine
water industry-related companies in Gyeonggi Province and 32 local buyers in
Vietnam will participate in the event, and each company will carry out
one-on-one export consultation sessions.

Only
20% of Vietnam
s waterworks and 10% of its sewer networks have been built; accordingly,
it is highly dependent on foreign companies to build its water infrastructure.
Given these local conditions and demand for the water industry, Gyeonggi
Province expects participating companies to achieve tangible results following
this event.

Hosted for the first time last year, this event saw eight out of nine of its participants reapply, proof that it was a highly satisfying event. Gyeonggi Province will visit and meet with personnel at all participating companies
prior to the event on November 7 and identify technical features of Vietnamese needs.
In
addition, Gyeonggi Province will propose the
Developing Country Buyer Invitational
Training Program
slated for 2017 to stimulate cooperation and exchange in provincial
areas.

Gyeonggi
Province Water Supply & Drainage Division Director Park Gi-jong said,
There are several waterworks
companies suffering from a lack of buyers despite their outstanding water
treatment technologies.
Park added, We hope that this export consultation session will help
companies in the water industry across Gyeonggi Province expand into overseas
markets.

Meanwhile,
Gyeonggi Province will visit VIETWATER 2016, the largest water industry
exhibition in Vietnam, on November 9 to support waterworks companies from
Gyeonggi Province at the exhibition and identify current trends prevailing in
Vietnam
s water industry so as to find ways for Gyeonggi Province companies to enter
the local market.
