Eight Vietnamese health practitioners will visit
Gyeonggi Province to attend an
international medical training program for four weeks from November
14 to December 6.

The
upcoming program is the next step for cooperation in the fields of health and
medicine established between Gyeonggi Province and Hanoi City in 2013.

The
eight trainees are specialists in orthopedics, neurology, gastrointestinal
medicine, and general surgery at the 175 Army Hospital, International Medical
Center, and Saint Paul
s Hospital.

The
training program, which covers clinical training and domestic medical systems, features
three medical institutes in Gyeonggi Province: the Seoul National University
Bundang Hospital, Sejong Hospital, and Danwon Hospital.

Gyeonggi
Province Health & Welfare Bureau Director General Bae Su-yong said,
“The international medical training program is playing a significant
role in developing Gyeonggi Province
s international medical industry including sustained
interaction with overseas governments, the promotion of Gyeonggi Province
s medical services, and the
power to attract foreign patients.

Gyeonggi
Province has hosted various training programs for 394 medical practitioners from
nine countries
including Russia, Kazakhstan, Malawi, Mongolia, China, and Uzbekistan since 2011 when the program
began with 16 medical practitioners from Khabarovsk.
