Gyeonggi
Province hosted the
Korea-Central Asia Medical Business Briefing to help businesses in the
medical industry from Gyeonggi Province enter the Central Asian market.

Fourteen
medical equipment, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics companies invited from
Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as well as more than 30 medical industry companies
from Gyeonggi Province, participated in the briefing session held at the Ramada
Plaza Hotel in Suwon City at 11:00am on November 30.

The Korea-Central
Asia Medical Business Briefing is an opportunity for businesses in the medical sector
from Gyeonggi Province and major Central Asian countries to interact. This year
marks the second event following the inaugural session held in March of 2015.

Of particular
note, representatives from Uzbekistan participated in the event for the first
time this year. The Uzbekistan government offered support and cooperation as
did the Chamber of Commerce in Uzbekistan, which found buyers interested in the
event.

This
year
s
briefing session featured a seminar on the medical industry as well as 1-on-1
business consultations between businesses from Gyeonggi Province and local
buyers.

During
the medical industry seminar, held as a pre-session event, Uzbekistan Chamber
of Commerce representative Nigora Ishanova gave a presentation on Uzbekistan
market trends while Kazakhstan Almaty Gyeonggi Global Medical Business Center
(GMBC) Director Jeong Chang-seop gave a presentation on the business
environment and current state of the medical industry in Kazakhstan.

Following
the seminar, 1-on-1 business consultation sessions were held between overseas
buyers and Gyeonggi businesses. Buyers at the event found companies from
Gyeonggi Province they sought to visit and arranged site visits for December 1.
During their visit, buyers will discuss details regarding potential contracts.

One
Gyeonggi Province official said,
Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are at the center of Central
Asia
s
economy, and they rely extensively on foreign vendors when it comes to the medical
industry and market. That
s why they are attractive markets. The official added, This briefing session will be
a good opportunity to promote the excellence of Gyeonggi Province
s medical industry throughout
Central Asia.

The
inaugural Korea-Central Asia Medical Business Briefing featured eight visitors
from the medical industry in Kazakhstan as well as 25 medical equipment
companies, cosmetics companies, and agencies from Gyeonggi Province.

Companies
from Gyeonggi Province took part in 66 consultation sessions and signed
contracts worth USD 100,000 with buyers at the event last year.
