– Over 200 ceramic works by 42 artists from 18 countries on display
– Channels available for communication with artists, such as workshop videos and live broadcasts, in addition to the online exhibition
The Korea Ceramic Foundation has set up an online exhibition venue through which, from March 13, visitors can enjoy outstanding ceramic works at home without being required to visit an exhibition hall in person.
The Korea Ceramic Foundation announced that the 2019 International Ceramic Biennale, which had been taking place at the Icheon World Ceramic Center since November last year but recently closed down due to COVID-19, will be moved to online and that the 2019 International Biennale Online Exhibition (kicb.co.kr) will be open to the public.
Through the online exhibition venue, visitors will be able to see 200 ceramic works by 42 artists hailing from 18 different countries. These works were selected based on their experimental quality, artistic value, and creativity from among entries submitted by 300 renowned ceramic artists.
The exhibition will be free, and descriptions of each artist will be provided with their works in the direction of guiding arrows. Visitors will also be able to watch workshop videos of the artists participating in the exhibition, and communicate directly with the artists through real-time online broadcasts.
“This online exhibition is designed to allow anyone to enjoy cultural life at home without difficulty as many outside cultural events have been canceled due to COVID-19,” said Choi Yeon, President of the Korea Ceramic Foundation. He added, “We anticipate that this exhibition will allow many provincial residents to gain vitality in their cultural and artistic activities.”
