Gunpo City’s Community Welfare Centers are attracting attention by publishing a booklet containing application forms for civil affair document issuance for multicultural residents.
The booklet—which provides application forms translated into different languages including Vietnamese, Filipino, Thai, and Chinese—will be distributed first to the Community Service Center of Gunpo 1-dong (where the population of multicultural residents is the highest in the city), as well as to the Civil Affairs Office of Gunpo City Hall and the Gunpo Multicultural Family Center this month.
These multilingual forms include the family relation certificate form, housing lease contract form, integrated report form for alien registration, and residence certificate form, which are most frequently issued to multicultural residents. It is expected that these forms will contribute greatly to the settlement and integration of multicultural families in the community.
According to a survey performed by Gunpo City in April, there are 2,072 foreign residents residing in Gunpo 1-dong. They make up approximately 6 percent of the total community population of 34,600.
