Gunpo City recently undertook a cultural exchange program that featured a visit by 14 middle and high school students of Gunpo to Linyi City in Shandong Province, People’s Republic of China.
The program was implemented to foster friendly exchanges between the youths of both countries who had participated in the 2017 Gunpo International Youth Festival held in late July. The students taking part in the program stayed in Linyi until August 10, visiting public and cultural facilities, experiencing homestay and enjoying various cultural exchange activities.
Earlier, Gunpo City invited youths from two of its overseas sister cities, Linyi of China and Atsugi of Japan, and hosted a program consisting of visits to major institutions and cultural heritage sites, homestay and cultural experiences from July 25 to 30.
The 40 participating teenagers from the three countries said that they were happy to build global friendships that transcend language barriers, especially while experiencing life and traditional culture in Korea through homestay and historic site tours.
Gunpo City also plans to hold a youth exchange visit program with Atsugi City in January of 2018. For more information, contact the Self-Governance Division of Gunpo City (+ 82-390-0103).
