As part of its environmental, social and governance (ESG) efforts, the Gyeonggi Job Foundation joined the ‘Gyeonggi Sea Together’ initiative to create a cleaner Gyeonggi Sea.

On September 9, Gyeonggi Job Foundation officials visited Turtle Island in Siheung City to participate in coastal environmental cleanup activities – such as the collection of marine debris – to mark Siheung City’s “Soft Stabilization Day” (the third Friday of every month). Approximately one tonne of plastic, styrofoam, and other waste was collected from the shoreline through these efforts.

Hong Chun-hee, Acting CEO of the Gyeonggi Job Foundation, said, “Our organization is engaged in various activities for a better tomorrow through ESG management,” adding, “We will actively contribute to creating a better Gyeonggi Province through various public and private sector collaborations.”

‘Gyeonggi Sea Together’ is a coastal environmental conservation initiative involving 11 organizations, including Gyeonggi Province, five coastal cities, and the Gyeonggi Job Foundation, to address marine debris and waste disposal. The foundation undertook coastal cleanup activities with local governments and related organizations at Oido Port in Siheung City in March and on Turtle Island in May.
