Gyeonggi Opens Technology Exchange Meeting via Invitation to Taiwan’s world-leading VR device manufacturer HTC VIVE

Developers from HTC VIVE in Taiwan, a world-leading virtual reality (VR) device maker, will visit Gyeonggi Province to address curiosity among domestic VR content developers.

On May 2, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will hold the VIVE Reality Meetup 2019 event on May 9 at the the Gwanggyo Gyeonggi Cultural Creation Hub. This event has been held annually since 2017 with the participation of Taiwan’s HTC VIVE and domestic VR developers as a channel for technology exchange.

HTC VIVE is the manufacturer of HMD, the top VR device in the world market, and a key participant in diverse VR fields such as platforms, controllers, and content development, while also fostering/investing in related companies.

During this event, HTC VIVE developers are expected to introduce developer software (SDK), in which domestic VR developers are interested, as well as enterprise solutions for other industries such as medicine and education.

In addition, new products for the 5G network developed by HTC VIVE will be also introduced.

Gyeonggi Province expects that this event will be an opportunity for VR/AR companies to share information about the latest technologies while also enhancing their capacities for overseas market entry.

Gyeonggi Province Contents Industry Division Director Ahn Chi-kwon remarked: “Information exchange and mutual cooperation with global companies are essential for the VR and AR industry. We will continue to support technology exchanges between various global companies and Gyeonggi Province-based companies.”
