Fine Dust Problem

Gyeonggi Province and three northeastern Chinese provinces—Liaoning Province, Heilongjiang Province, and Jilin Province—will come together to discuss solutions to fine dust.
Gyeonggi Province will host the 2017 Environmental Cooperation Forum of Gyeonggi Province and Three Northeastern Provinces of China, attended by environmental protection department officials as well as experts and entrepreneurs from the three northeastern Chinese provinces from 9 am on June 14, 2017, at the Ramada Plaza Suwon.
This forum is a result of the acceptance by the three northeastern Chinese provinces of Gyeonggi Province’s proposal to gather to resolve fine dust problems. In October last year, Gyeonggi Province forwarded this proposal through the Gyeonggi Environmental Industry Cooperation Team when its representatives visited the Department of Environmental Protection of Liaoning Province. This is the first time that Gyeonggi Province and these Chinese provinces will have official discussions regarding the fine dust issue.
During the 2017 Environmental Cooperation Forum of Gyeonggi Province and Three Northeastern Provinces of China, a morning session will be held on the subject of policies to address fine dust and cooperative inter-regional plans, and an afternoon session will be held focusing on discussions regarding the recycling of agricultural waste, the monitoring of fine dust, and relevant cooperation methods.
This forum is expected to serve as a platform for Gyeonggi Province to strengthen environmental partnerships with the three northeastern Chinese provinces and to form a consensus on the reduction of fine dust levels.
This forum will be accompanied by a trade fair attended by environment-related companies based in the three northeastern Chinese provinces as well as in Yancheng City of Jiangsu Province. Companies wishing to participate in this event can apply by contacting the Gyeonggi Technopark Future Business Team (+82-31-500-3085) before June 12.
