Gyeonggi Province Offers Reduced Airport Bus Fare for Youths

The youth fare that was the same as the adult fare for airport buses in Gyeonggi Province will be discounted to 70% of the adult fare from July 11. The discount rate for the child fare will also increase from 30% to 50%, and the adult fare for some routes to Incheon International Airport will be discounted by KRW 1,000 as well.
There will be a 30% discount on the youth fare and an additional 20% discount on the child fare. Teenagers can use airport buses at KRW 8,400 to 4,200, which is about 70% of the adult fare (KRW 12,000 to 6,000) from July 11. The child fare will be reduced from 70% of the adult fare (KRW 8,400 to 4,000) to 50% of the adult fare (KRW 6,000 to 3,000).
The adult fare will also be reduced by KRW 1,000 for six routes to Incheon International Airport. The routes include: Seongnam-Yongin (Bus No. 5000, 5300, and 5400), Ansan (Bus No. 7000), Bucheon (Bus No. 7001), and Goyang (Bus No. 7400). The Suwon, Yeoncheon, Uijeongbu and Gunpo routes were excluded from the discount in consideration of the bus company’s management condition.
Gyeonggi Province decided to improve airport bus service as well. All vehicles will be equipped with a TV and an electronic display board that shows the departure time outside the bus in order to provide route and time information to users. The new vehicles will also be equipped with USB charging ports for smartphones and Wi-Fi. Furthermore, drivers of airport buses will wear uniforms with their name tags visible to share service provider information with passengers. An automatic external defibrillator will also be installed on each bus for emergency cardiac situations. Gyeonggi Province estimates the budget required for installing TVs and other amenities on buses and improving overall service to be approximately KRW 2.2 billion.
