On October 21 at 4 p.m., Gyeonggi Province will hold a “Face-to-Face Talk with the Governor” at Suwon’s 1st Outdoor Music Hall to celebrate Gyeonggi Residents’ Day.

Gyeonggi Province had previously planned to hold the “Midsummer Night’s Face-to-Face Talk with the Governor” in July to mark the second year of the current provincial administration; more than 20,000 Gyeonggi residents applied to participate, but the event was postponed due to continuous heavy rains.

In celebration of the 6th Gyeonggi Residents’ Day (October 18), the event will look back on past moments with Gyeonggi residents, honor outstanding residents, and engage with residents through participatory performances. Singers Park Jung-hyun, Davichi, and the Dream Weed Ensemble will also appear to provide a variety of cultural performances.

Gyeonggi residents who wish to participate can apply by September 27 at 5 p.m. via the Gyeonggi Province website (www.gg.go.kr) or via links on the province’s social media (SNS) channels.

In addition, by providing the opportunity to write a “Request to the Governor” when submitting an application to participate, the opinions of Gyeonggi residents will be delivered directly to the Governor of Gyeonggi Province, and related policy will be actively reviewed for refinement.

Gyeonggi Province Public Relations Planning Director General Lee Won-il said, “We have enriched the Face-to-Face Talk that was unfortunately postponed last July to celebrate Gyeonggi Residents’ Day,” adding, ”It reaffirms Governor Kim’s will to bond with provincial residents and to meet, communicate with and listen to everyone in Gyeonggi about the future direction of the province.”
