The Gyeonggido Job Foundation is recruiting trainees, mentors, and companies to participate in the “2020 Social Economy and Value Transaction Revitalization Project.”

The project has been designed to create jobs by supporting the “social economy value trader” start-ups of those in their 30s and 40s, and to expand the social economy market by exploring online sales channels for products produced by social enterprises.

A total of 30 job seekers aged 30-49 who are residing in Gyeonggi Province will be accepted by August 20. Applicants are required to submit an application, a letter of self-introduction, and a copy of their resident registration certificate, as well as documentary evidence of career change and long-term job-seeking activities.

After completing education and training, the selected trainees will act as value traders who propose marketing strategies to participating companies, provide consultation, and help the companies sell their products. In addition, each value trader will receive KRW 500,000 per month for activity costs, which amounts to KRW 1.5 million over three months, and up to KRW 200,000 for education and training support.

A total of 30 mentors who have online sales experience with social economic products will be recruited as participating mentors by August 20. Applicants are asked to submit an application and documentary evidence of their work experience, and must satisfy at least one qualification among the following criteria: three or more years of consulting experience such as in marketing, three or more years of experience as a merchandiser (MD) for a social enterprise or a SME, or three or more years of experience in online sales that are deemed applicable to performance as a mentor.

Participating mentors will help selected trainees effectively perform their roles as value traders, including addressing any difficulties they may encounter. They will receive up to KRW 1.2 million during four months through payments of KRW 300,000 per month for activity costs.

A total of 90 companies will be selected as participants by August 27, of which 55 will be social economic organizations and 35 will be general SMEs. Applicants are asked to submit an application, a business plan, a business license, and documentary evidence of eligibility.

If selected, each participating company will receive KRW 300,000 for marketing, sales activities and promotional development costs through value traders linked to the company.
