The Gyeonggi Sharing Service (share.gg.go.kr), an integrated reservation system for public resources in Gyeonggi Province, received the Ministerial Award for being ranked first in the field of best practices among metropolitan cities/provinces in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s 2023 Local Government Performance Evaluation of Public Resource Openness and Shared Services.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety annually evaluates local governments across the country on their efforts and achievements in the opening of public resources and the provision of shared services. This is the second time since 2021 that the Gyeonggi Sharing Service has been selected in the field of best practices for opening and sharing public resources.
Since January 2021, Gyeonggi Province has been operating the Gyeonggi Sharing Service, which is open to Gyeonggi residents residing in the province’s 31 cities and counties, as well as to public institutions. The Gyeonggi Sharing Service provides access to more than 2,800 public facilities such as classrooms, meeting rooms, and sports facilities, as well as reservation services for various items such as lectures and experiential programs, garden plot distribution, and rental goods, plus comprehensive information on public wedding halls and public camping sites, applications for shared property loans, and reservations for free legal consultations.
In the past year, Gyeonggi provided the nation’s first integrated online reservation service for free legal advice, offered affordable and unique wedding venues to prospective couples through the public wedding hall information page, used 360° virtual reality (VR) to enable inspections of facilities, and developed a lottery function for the distribution of public garden plots.
Kim Hae-ryeon, Director of the Asset Management Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, “We will continue to expand various public resources this year so that residents of Gyeonggi Province can easily and conveniently use diffusely located open public resources by finding and booking them through the Gyeonggi Sharing Service.”
