Kkumdure Library Holds

Kkumdure Library in Osan City, Gyeonggi Province, held its “Exciting Science Experience Playground” with a volunteer team from the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology for invited children from multicultural families in Osan.
The event, which started at 10 a.m., was attended by 60 children from multicultural families. The programs took place in Cultural Lecture Rooms 1 and 2 of the library and featured various experiential science games such as “Electromagnet Fishing,” “Wind Cars,” and “Clowns’ Feats.”
The invited children with parents of various nationalities gathered in front of the booths with themes that they wanted to experience and learned interesting science principles taught by researchers from Samsung Electronics while participating in a variety of experiments.
In addition, in the afternoon, there was a class for the making of vibrating robots in which children had the opportunity to learn principles of vibrating robots while assembling and decorating their own robots. In a subsequent vibrating robot contest, a race for the robots made by children was held and prizes were awarded to those who built the fastest robots.
A child with a Russian parent who participated in the event said, “I really liked these interesting scientific experiments, and it was fun to meet and play with children from all over the world.”
