Gyeonggi Province Signs Agreement with Samsung for Support
On October 6, Gyeonggi Province, Pyeongtaek City and the Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation signed a cooperation agreement with Samsung for early investment and the provision of administrative support, including the securing of a national fund for the construction of entry roads.

“This project will contribute to economic enhancement and job creation. Samsung’s investment will also lead to major changes in the international semiconductor markets.”
Experts estimate that Samsung’s investment will eventually lead to the creation of 150,000 new jobs as well as an overall economic boost valued at KRW 41 trillion.

On September 29, Gyeonggi Province announced its 5-year plan for the promotion of environment-friendly agriculture. Gyeonggi Province will invest a total of KRW 439 billion in the implementation of this plan which is officially termed ‘Eco 3-Minded Plans’

This 5-year plan consists of environment-friendly agricultural promotion policies mindful of consumer concerns regarding the reliability, consistency and goodwill of products and distribution tems, hence the ‘Eco 3-Minded Plans’.

Article 3. On-site Gyeonggi Province Public Service ‘Dominanbang’ Closes (1006-2)

The on-site public service tem of Gyeonggi Province, Dominanbang (도민안방), was closed after having provided1,279 on-site services and handling more than half a million civil applications over its four years of operations since 2010.

Served 508,000 Civil Application Cases at 1,279 Locations Over 4 Years
Since it was launched in August of 2010, and up to this September, this service processed 508,000 civil applications at on-site locations in twenty-one cities and counties of the province.
[CG]The most frequent applications were for employment consultations in 17,000 cases, followed by welfare, urban and housing matters.
Through this service, 2,800 individuals found employment and 1,100 received welfare support.
Dominanbang Visited 221 Administration Blind Areas to process 21,000 Civil Applications
Dominanbang (도민안방) service officials visited all corners of the province to help improve the quality of the lives of residents, especially those in remote areas where residents cannot easily access public services.
It resolved 21,000 civil applications at such locations and linked more than a thousand patients in these areas to hospitals.
Dominanbang Received Presidential Award and Highest Customer Happiness Brand Award
After having served numerous residents on site and receiving a presidential award as well as the highest Customer Happiness Brand award, the Dominanbang (도민안방) service was finally closed last month.

Gyeonggi Province plans to develop other means to improve the availability of public services that may have been compromised by the closure of the Dominanbang (도민안방) service.
Article 4. Gyeonggi Province Launches Exchange Risk Insurance (1007-3)

With low-cost general type exchange risk insurance, any exchange gain goes to the insurance company. However, guaranteed profit type insurance is often deemed too expensive.

Gyeonggi Province also set aside KRW 100 million for insurance premium payment support. A premium of up to KRW 1.5 million will be paid depending on the coverage.
