Three weeks ago, on September 28th, the 7th Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale opened for a 60-day run with a variety of programs for public participation under the theme of ‘Community’.

While there are many interesting programs for children, the ceramic biennalealso an opportunity for adults to appreciate the works of ceramic artistsaround the world.
Among the artwork that drew the most interest was a piece dan American artist that consists of jars covered with moss-like plants.
3) Park Hyun-ah / Resident of Anyang City
“I was fascinatedthis unique piece that features ceramic jars. The plants aregrown inside them; instead, the plants are growing on their outer surfaces.”
4) Number of Visitors Doubled This Year
Organizedthe Korea Ceramic Foundation with a greater variety of programs, this year’s ceramic biennale attracted nearly twice as many visitors as previous events.
It also serves as an opportunity for a wider range of artists to showcase their work.

Wintera cruel season for day laborers, mostly unemployed construction workers, who arrive at manpower support centers before daybreakhave to wait outside for hours onuntil, they are lucky, they are assigned a day job.

This centerone of the largest daily manpower support centers in Gyeonggi Province. Itused250 day workers on average daily.

Gyeonggi ProvinceSeongnam (성남) City jointly contributed KRW 160 million to build this waiting room of 82 square meters.
The facility also functions as an employment center to help day workers find permanent work.

It also provides arbitration services in settling such problems as deferred wage payments, a problem harder than the harsh weather facedday laborers.

During normal office hours after the early-morning waitday laborers, the center transforms into an employment welfare center, providing consultation services for labor issues as well as employment services.

The Gyeonggi Province Fire Department staged a large-scale emergency rescue drill at the LG Display Complex in Paju (파주) City so as to better prepare for emergency situations causedthe leakage of industrial toxins.

The Gyeonggi Provincial Government recently announced that it will 5,000 regular part-time jobstheof next year for individuals who are unable to take up full-time employment for personal reasons such as study or child-rearing.

In July, this hospital hired two regular part-time information desk clerks to work during the busiest hours8:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Regular part-time employees will work 15 to 30 hours a week,must receive higher than the minimum legal wage.

The Gyeonggi Province team won the Korean National Skills competition for a second consecutive year, achieving the most overall wins in the history of the competition.
