Gyeonggi Province Governor, Kim Moon-soo (김문수) was this year’s special lecturer invited to this event organizedKorea’s Student Council.
During the lecture, Governor Kim spoke of youth leadershipshared his thoughts about the attributesqualities required to be a youth leader.

An unusual form of sex educationbeing offered in the northern Gyeonggi Province. Itprovided on board a bus that circulates primary schools equipped with audiovisual education aids.

Young students step on board a bus, oblivious to what they are about to experience. On the bus, they try out a gadget that simulates the feelings of pregnancy- such as fetal movements in the tummy,experience the magic of life first hand, which they couldotherwise learn at school.

This mobile sex education bus, named “Tall Tree Bus” with its friendly interior that mimics a forest of giant trees, was introduced last December,‘a youth sex culture center’,has since been circulating around the northern part of the province visiting primary schools.

The key to the success of this mobile sex educationthe use of a variety of educational aids that enable children to learn about the birth of life – presented at their eye level.

One of the dried laver producers of Gyeonggi Province secured a Chinese business partner,is about to introduce its G-marked products to two hundred retail food outlets in China.

Article 4. Air Pollution Signal Lights (0318-1)

The Gyeonggi HealthEnvironment Research Center developed the ‘air pollution signal light’ that provides information about the safety of local atmospheric conditions, with color-coded lights justtraffic lights.

The air pollution signal light,this one at the entrance to Gwanggyo (광교) mountain in Suwon (수원), displays the level of air pollution in six colors depending on the severity of pollution.

These lights provide air pollution signals in real-timeare based on the information receivedseventy measurement points throughout the province.

Bluegreen lights indicate that itsafe for outdoor activities, yellow light warns physically weak individuals, such as seniorschildren who have heartlung disease, to refrainstaying outdoors. When the red or brown lighton, even healthy adults must stay indoors. This color-based warning tem was conceived primarily to replace the previous numeric indication of pollution measurement values, which can hardly be understood exceptspecialists

Article 5. Gyeonggi Invited National Assemblymen for Housing Talks (0319-3)

The real estate sector of the Korean economy has been at a standstill for the past several years. Itmaking significant adverse effects on housing market as well as on provincial administration.

The number of real estate transactions in Gyeonggi Province ped dramatically from, over twenty-one thousand cases in December last year, to only five thousand in January this year. With forty percent of its revenue comingreal estate transaction-related taxes, the Gyeonggi Provincial Governmentexperiencing a major financial problem that jeopardizes the normal functioning of the administration.

The Gyeonggi Provincial Government invited the members of the National Assembly representing the province, to a Provincial Housing Policy Meeting,discussed housing market issues.

The provincial government proposed revision of legislature for the extension of the real estate procurement tax exemption period,the abolition of heavy real estate transfer tax on multiple housing owners,requested the National Assembly for their support.

This hotel also contributes to the local economycreating 340 new jobs

This hotelonly part of the accommodation projects of HallyuWorld (한류월드) which includes a number of hotels with a total of three thousand guestroom within the complex.

Recent successive outbreaks of large fires, both in urban areasforests, have alerted the Fire Department of Gyeonggi Province. A GNews-Plus reporter visited the Gyeonggi Fire Service Academy, to witness firefighters in action on training at simulated disaster events.

Thisa simulated copper fluoride leakage site. The primary missionto save the lives of people trapped inside. Each firefighter, rigged with nearly 30 kilograms of equipmentprotective gear,assigned with a different missionis ready to take action. Thismock training, butthe equipment available has been brought out for deployment.

Another group of trainees are focusing intensely on firefighting training. They undergo a training sequence of a variety of special skills, as well as the basics. At theof the day, they will emerge as more experienced firefighters who are better capable of safeguarding the lives of citizens.
