During 2011, this company marked USD 78,000 in bottle-grown mushroom exports. Last year, its exports quadrupled to USD 280,000. More than a thousand boxes of mushrooms are now shipped to overseas destinations every two weeks, a significant challenge even for seventy workers.

The Mushroom Research Institute of the Gyeonggi Agricultural ResearchExtension Services recently succeeded in developing a new breed of oyster mushroom, Gonji (곤지)-7,began supplying it to mushroom farms in the province.
