The Food Safety Education Center for Children opened in Anyang (안양) City to promote awareness of the importance of healthy foods through experiential programs among children who are increasingly biased to modern fast foods.

Gyeonggi Provinceone of the regions with the greatest occurrence rate of trauma patients, accounting for 30% of the national total.

Each trauma center edthe Ministry of HealthWelfareentitled to facilityequipment support of KRW 8 billion as well as up to KRW 2.7 billion annually for labor costs; such support could potentially save an additional 600 lives a year. Many lives in Gyeonggi Province are at risk due to the unacceptable results of the ministry’s trauma center ion process.

The Danish delegation visited the public health center in Ansan (안산) City to benchmark the IT-based self-help health service of Gyeonggi Province.

Each of a total of 338 diabetes patients who are registered with this public health centerequipped with a blood sugar monitora wireless communication device. When an emergency situation such as a fluctuating blood sugar level occurs unbeknownstthe patient, a text messageautomatically transmitted to the patient so that immediate action can be taken to address the situation.
