Theme parks are major money makers among tourism industries. So much so that the competition to induce a well established global theme parkvery high. It seems Gyeonggi Provincewell on its way to the successful inducement of Universal Studios.

Songsan (송산) Green City has been designatedGyeonggi Province for the establishment of Universal Studios, a world-famous theme park under NBC Universal of the US. The ambitious Universal Studios Project of Gyeonggi Province has long awaited the Korean central government’s approval for financial support.

The possibility of securing central governmental support for the establishment of Universal Studios was heightened with its passage through deliberationthe Ministry of Public AdministrationSecurity.

The Gyeonggi Province Agricultural ResearchExtension Services plans to hold an education course on farm machines for farmers. Thisthe first education program on the operationmanagement of farm machines organizedthe agency.

The improvement of competitivenessproductivitythe major focus of the agricultural policies of Gyeonggi Province. As part of such policies, the provincial government has organized an education course on farm machines to educate farmers on their effective usemanagement.

This mechanized farming course will be provided at the Gyeonggi Province Agricultural ResearchExtension Servicescover a variety of farm machines.
2) OperationManagement of Farming Machines
The equipment covered in this educational course will include simple machines such as cultivatorstractors as well as larger, more complicated machines such as harvesters. Unlike usual farming education, this course will provide farmers with opportunities to become familiar with various farm machinestheir benefits.

Stationery shops in Korea also double as confectionery stores for children. Since stationery shops are vulnerable to the infiltration of faulty foods, children are exposed to possible food hazards. The Gyeonggi HealthEnvironment Research Center began providing on-site food safety consultations at super marketsother food stores including stationery shops.

Thisa stationery shop in front of a primary school in Suwon (수원) City. Children are buying sweetssnacks here. The more colorful they are, the more children are attracted to them. Some of them, however, may contain excessive levels of colorings, sweeteners or preservatives.

The Gyeonggi HealthEnvironment Research CenterSuwon Women’s University jointly conducted on-site food inspectionsfood safety consultations at one of the large super markets in Suwon (수원) City. They found some food products that contained noxious germshazardous chemical levels.

However, many bacteria were found on the hand of a shopper,a fluorescent whitener that can cause stomach afflictions was detected in tissue paper. The Gyeonggi Provincial Government, therefore, decided to provide provincial farmers with export support in collaboration with the Korea Agro-FisheriesFood Trade Corporation.

Despite record exports of USD 565 million last year, agriculturalfood producers in Gyeonggi Province are concerned about losing competitiveness in the wake of free trading agreements with foreign countries.

Under this agreement, Gyeonggi Province will conduct a survey on the processing, distributionexport of provincial agriculturalfood products. The Gyeonggi Provincial Government will then provide local producers with consultation services for overseas market developmentorganizing promotional events, inviting overseas buyersproviding administrative support.

During summer, the consumption of fishshellfish in their raw form increases dramatically in Korea. Since it also increases the risk of bacterial infection, Gyeonggi Province began the inspection of the West Coast for sea water contamination.

Last year, a total of 12 persons contracted vibrio vulnificus sepsis,five cases were fatal. It has a very high fatality rate,those who fall chronically ill must be treated with special care.

The Gyeonggi Health & Environment Research Center took active measures for the prevention of vibrio vulnificus sepsis.

The opening ceremony of the Gyeonggi Province Skills Contest took place at the Pyeongtaek (평택) MechanicalTechnical High School.
2) Gyeonggi Province Seeks 16th Victory at National Skills Competition
Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Moon-sooGyeonggi Province Education Superintendent Kim Sang-gon (김상곤) were present at the opening ceremony. Gyeonggi Province has a record of 15 overall first-place finishes11 second-place finishes in the National Skills Competition.

Competition in the automobile service category has begunthe competing students are working with deft movements of their hands. Each competitor must complete four tasks including disassemblydiagnosis of an engine within a set time. All 826 technicians participate in 49 categories, competing for 147 medals.

Medal winners qualify for the National Skills Competition, which will be held in Daegu (대구) City in September,will also be exemptedthe professional certificate test for the related category.
