Conflict between parentschildren over the overuse of computerschildrenperhaps a universal domestic problem. Koreano exception. Since computer addiction, or more precisely, computer game addiction,undermining the daily lives of schoolchildrenadolescents in Korea,there are internet cafés on every street corner, concerns about the social, psychologicalemotional development of youths who compulsively use computers have been escalating.

This internet café in Suwon (수원) Citypacked with adolescents absorbed in online games. These youths are glued to their seatsplay compulsively, isolating themselvesfamily, friendsother forms of social contact. They focus almost entirely on in-game achievements rather than real-life events. The internet cafés, commonly known as PC rooms, are the places most often frequentedKorean youths after schoolduring school holidays.

According to a surveythe National Information Society Agency of Korea, there are 1.7 million compulsive gaming adolescents in Korea,nearly one fourth of them live in Gyeonggi Province. They are medically classified as psychological addicts,many of them suffersymptoms of pathological gaming.
2) Gyeonggi Internet Addiction Prevention Center
To address the problem of compulsive computer use among childrenadolescents, the Gyeonggi Internet Addiction Prevention Center launched a consultation service to provide young computer addicts with free one-on-one consultations with specialists.

“We need to guide children awaycomputerstoward spending time in real activities.”
These consultants also provide tematic time management services on an individual basis to help children amend their time-using behavior.

“I spent every spare time in playing Internet games until I came here for a consultation. I now spend my time in more healthy ways.”
This consultation service has been a big success,there are an increasing number of youths visiting the center or even seeking phone consultations. Gyeonggi Province also plans to introduce a home consultation service for those youths who withdrewschool or are in multicultural families.

Since residential occupation began in June last year, the residents of Gimpo (김포) Han River New Town have been experiencing difficulties due to incomplete urban infrastructure. Officials of Gyeonggi Province, including Vice Governor for Political Affairs Kim Seong-ryeol (김성렬), visited the new town to view the situation firsthand.

2) 72% of Work Complete
Since it began in March of 2008, 72% of the work has been completed. More than 6,000 households have already been occupied, but the construction of residential infrastructure isyet complete. Most of the current residents eagerly anticipated living in a new town when they first moved in, but they were soon deeply disappointedhave been enduring many difficulties.

One of the first arrangements will be the opening of direct bus routes to Seoul StationGimpo (김포) Airport to improve connectivity with Seoul. Long-term parkingsafety protection facilities, especially for children, will also be completed in June at the latest.

3) Korea’s First Permanent Nobel Prize for Literature Exhibition Hall
This librarythe first in Korea to permanently feature articles related to the Nobel Prize for Literature. Gyeonggi Province plans to arrange tours of the exhibition articles around the province.

These are part of the Mobile Learning Contents, also known as Virtual Gyeonggi, developedthe Gyeonggi Human Resource Development Center.

Over 70,000 public officialspublic organization personnel use the Mobile Learning Contents on average each month. Over 40,000 s signed in during the first month of the service alone,more than half a million lecture log-ins were recorded during the first eight months.
3) Mobile Learning System Developed FirstGyeonggi Human Resource Development Center
The Mobile Learning System was developed to provide public officialspublic organization personnel with education applicable in their workdaily lives. The educational contents are very easy to follow because they are provided in the form of 5-minute video lectures on a variety of topics such as economy, human science, fashionethics.
4) Over 3,000 Content Articles in 6 Fields
The contents consist of a wide variety of topics rangingtax law presented in the form of a dramaan animation of stress-relieving exercises to economic tips presentedan announcer.

“The Mobile Learning Contents were developed for public employees to utilize for useful learning at odd times such as commuting. In particular, they are designed to prepare public employees to cope with the rapidly changing environment of public administration.”
The Gyeonggi Human Resources Development Center plans to further diversify the educational contentsalso introduce educational e-books.

Thisa rest area on an expressway in Gyeonggi Province. Personnelthe Korea Institute of Petroleum Management are collecting samplesthe fuel tanks of vehicles.
2) Mobile Free Fuel Analysis Service / Analysis Results in 5 Minutes
Five minutes have passed since the samples were taken to the fuel analyzer in a mobile inspection vehicle. The driver of the car was informed that the fuel in his vehiclegenuine gasoline.

4) Free Fuel Analysis Service Agreement between Gyeonggi ProvinceKorea Institute of Petroleum Management
Gyeonggi Province signed an agreement with the Korea Institute of Petroleum Management for the free fuel analysis service so as to control illegal dealing in fake fuel.

Title 6. New KTX Station to Open in Jije, Pyeongtaek City (120217-3)

Residents in southern Gyeonggi Province, especially in the cities of Pyeongtaek (평택)Anseong, (안성), have to travel to Asan (아산) Station in Cheonan (천안) City to use the KTX. To alleviate this inconvenience, an additional station will open on the KTX line at Jije (지제) in Pyeongtaek (평택) City.

1) Ministry of Land, Transport & Maritime Affairs to Build Jije Station on Suseo-Pyeongtaek Segment of KTX Line
The Ministry of Land, Transport & Maritime Affairs announced that it has approved the additional construction of a KTX station at Jije (지제) at the request of Gyeonggi Province. This stationon the KTX Seoul Metropolitan Area Express Railroad Line between Suseo (수서) of SeoulPyeongtaek (평택) City of Gyeonggi Province, whichscheduled to open in 2014.
2) KTX Will Be AccessibleSouthern Gyeonggi Residents in 2015
When the construction of Jije (지제) Stationcomplete in 2015, citizens of Pyeongtaek (평택), Anseong (안성)Osan (오산) in southern Gyeonggi Province will be able to use KTXnearby Jije (지제) Station. This also means that southern Gyeonggi residents can transfer to the KTX Gyeongbu (경부) Line to travel as far as Busan (부산) without difficulty.

“Residents of southern Gyeonggi Province have to travel to Cheonan (천안) City or Gwangmyeong (광명) City to use KTX, but the opening of Jije (지제) Station will eliminate unnecessary travel time.”
The number of average daily travelers through Jije (지제) Stationexpected to reach 13,000 in 2016 since many of them will be using this station to travel to the transfer station of the KTX Gyeongbu (경부) Line. Gyeonggi Province will cooperate closely with the Ministry of Land, Transport & Maritime Affairsthe very beginning of the designing stage to help expedite the construction of Jije (지제) Station in time for the opening of the KTX Seoul Metropolitan Area Express Railroad Line in 2014.
