Title 1. Visiting Public Service ‘Domin Anbang’ Gained High Approval (0109-2)

Domin Anbang (도민안방)a representative visiting public service program of Gyeonggi Province. Since this program was launched in June of 2011, teams of officials have travelled to a number of remote-but-populated places in the province, set up temporary day-offices – often in the form of a tent –provided welfareemployment consultation services as well as public application services. A recent survey revealed that this program’s satisfaction rate among provincial residents was as high as 83%.

Based on the results of this survey, the Gyeonggi Provincial Government plans to expand the regional coverage of Domin Anbang (도민안방) Servicesthis year.
1) Gyeonggi Public Highly Satisfied with Domin Anbang Services
A survey was conducted of 254 visitors to the offices of the Domin Anbang (도민안방) Service,the results revealed that 83% were satisfied with its services. Such a high rate of satisfactionattributed to the one-stop resolution tem of the service.
2) Wide Range of Services Available
Visitors can benefita wide range of services such as welfare, health, real estatelegal consultations. Public applicationscomplaints also are processed or dealt with immediately. For these reasons, Domin Anbang (도민안방) attracts many provincial residents.
Gyeonggi Province will continue to improve the quality of Domin Anbang (도민안방) services.
3) Kim Sang-soon / Gyeonggi Province Self-governing Division Official
“From this year, we will expand the service coverage to agriculturalfishing villagespublic services are hard to access.”
Since Gyeonggi Provincial Council membersrepresentatives of civic organizations will participate as consultantsthis year, the Domin Anbang (도민안방) Service will also become a major communication channel between public officesresidents.

The Business SOS System of Gyeonggi Province released its results for 2011. Launched in 2007, this business support tem has been identifyingresolving issues facedenterprises in the province,has become a model for other provinces.

The Business SOS System receives complaintsprivate companies through visits, phone callsonline,provides assistancesolutions in a range of areas such as operation financing, factory construction, local infrastructure, marketingtechnical certification.
1) Total 16,389 Cases Processed in 2011
More than 16,000 SOS calls were receivedprocessedthe Business SOS System in 2011, which works out to 6.9 cases per day.
2) Improvement of Business Infrastructure
The continuous improvement of business infrastructureGyeonggi Province has resulted in the decrease of complaints in this respect. Emergency requests regarding financial assistancefactory construction also decreased compared to previous years.
3) Positive ResponsesCompanies
A large portion of business problems were identified directlythe Business SOS team during their on-site visits. The Business SOS System has been favorably receivedcompanies. One of the notable achievementsthe investment of a total of KRW 9.1 billion in work environment improvement, which benefited 21,000 employees at 1,400 companies.
Gyeonggi Province will continue to improve the environment for both businessestheir employees through extensive on-site observations.
Title 3. Children’s Choirs CreatedTalent Donation (120109_1)

A performancechildren’s choirs deeply moved the audience at the Gyeonggi Arts Center. All the members of these choirs are childrenshelter facilities who never had any opportunities for singing lessons… that is,until the Gyeonggi Arts Center arranged lessons with local artists under the Talent Donation Program.

The beautiful voices of children reverberate throughout the auditorium at the Gyeonggi Arts Center. As the title of the performance suggests, thisthe first time that each member of this choir has ever stood on a stage. After the performance, the audience was moved to passionate applause.

Eun-bi (은비)a member of West Choir Team 3. Shefrom a multicultural family,spends most of her days at a children’s home until late at night her parents work. None of the other members of these choirs have ever had music lessons until they joined the choir. Eunbi’s new dream is, of course, to become a musician.
5) Free 8-Month Singing LessonsAffiliate Artists of Gyeonggi Arts Center
These children were given a chance of a lifetime to study music with professional musicians thanks to the Talent Donation Program of the Gyeonggi Arts Center for children of underprivileged families.

“I became more confident since I began to learn how to sing. I feel nervous about going on stage, but I also look forward to it. ”
Most of these children miss parental care, but they now have dreamsconfidence. They made many new friends, laugh a lotalways hum merrily.

“We organized children’s choirs with 650 culturally underprivileged childrenthe 31 citiescounties of Gyeonggi Province. The current stage of our project for themsolely dependent upon talent donations, but our ultimate goalto expand this project to encompass both children’s welfare as well as employment opportunities for artists.”

Title 4. Establishment of Social Enterprise Support Centers (120110-1)

Gyeonggi Province announced that it will establish Social Enterprise Support Centers in nine citiescounties of the province so as to promote the creation of social enterprises. This initiative will be expanded to the entire provincenext year.

Social enterprises in Gyeonggi Province will now be provided with extensive support as well as privileged benefits.
4) Social Enterprise Support Center
The Social Enterprise Support Centers will open in major citiescounties of Gyeonggi Province this year. These centers, which consist of part-time managersvolunteer specialists, will provide social enterprises with a wide range of specialized supportbusiness inauguration to production, procurementsales.

There are currently 282 social enterprises in Gyeonggi Province with 5,300 employees.
Title 5. ‘Find the Secrets in the Gallery’ Art Exhibition (1201-1)

The Gyeonggi Arts Center opened an unusual exhibition thatfamily members can enjoy together. This ‘Find the Secrets in the Gallery” exhibition combines art with science.

2) ‘The Artist’s Studio: Nine rue de la Condamine’
The x-ray image of this painting reveals a completely different painting of a female nude. It was this nude that the artist first painted but, for some reason, he painted a new image over the original. At the entrance to this gallery, visiting children receive detective hatsare given a mission to solve five mysteries in the exhibited paintings.

“Thisan experiential exhibition for children that combines art with science. It was designed to provide children with scientific educationentertainment as well as an opportunity to appreciate art.”
In the first room, children are asked to find a secret hidden behind the painting using an X-ray image. In the next, already awedthe experience in the first room, children are eager to find a fake painting using a special camera. In another room, they learn about art restoration using a puzzle piecea piece.
The history of color paintsone of the things that children learn at this exhibition through mystery-solving. Oncethe mysteries in the paintings are solved, a magician appearstells the children about the story of the theft of the Mona Lisa using various scientific techniques. Fascinatedwhat they see throughout the exhibition, children leave the gallery with added knowledge about artscience.

“I couldn’t understand at first, but I could after listening to the explanation. It was amazing to see characters hidden in the panting.”

6) Photograph Exhibition
The North American Native Photograph Exhibition was also held at a nearby gallery. Somembers of the family had something to enjoy.
