A Malawian girl who lost both legshad never walked on both legs left the Suwon Hospital of Gyeonggi Province Medical Center after three months of treatment for home, on foot, without aidedothers, thanks to Gyeonggi Province that provided support for the treatmentthe expertise of Gyeonggi medical team. Our reporter was there when she took the first step after the surgeries.

Shadreck Tiyamike (띠야미께), a 9-year old girlMalawi in Africa, lost both legsa fire accident when she was one year old. She had never been able to walk ever since.
1) Gyeonggi Province Decided to Provide Medical Support
When the news of her tragedy reached Gyeonggi Province, the provincial government decided to invite her to bring the legs back to her. She arrived in Korea in September 21st.
2) Surgery at Aju University Hospital, Rehabilitation at Suwon Hospital
After three months of surgeriesrehabilitation treatment, Tiyamike (띠야미께) finally took the first stepherself. Her new dreamnow to become a doctorcure the peopleher former self.

“I felt sad when I saw her on a wheelchair. It was difficult for her to go to school. Somebody has to be with her to carry things for herto push her wheelchair. I am now very happy. My cousin can now walkgo to school alone. Artificial legs are really fantastic. I am very grateful tothat helped her. I am so happy.”
4) Continued Medical Support
Medical support for Tiyamike (띠야미께) will continue in the future since she needs several more treatment sessions until her leg bones grow sufficiently to support her.

Gyeonggi Provincial Governor Kim Moon-soo (김문수) visited Toiyamike (띠야미께) at the hospitalpromised her to continue to provide medical support.
