Earlier in November, the Gyeonggi Women’s Vision Center announced the launch of a new concept employment support project for women. Her employment has already been secured at a production company in Ansan (안산) City. She participated in an employment program for women at the Gyeonggi Women’s Vision Center to learn IT technology for filming.

“I am sixty years old and,this year, I am living a new life. I am now filming a biography as a training project to learn video technology at a professional level.”
The developmentimplementation of training programs for women has been a major activity of the Gyeonggi Women’s Vision Center. This new projectone step higher in the standard of specialties. This center plans to gradually expand the training fields under this project.

6. ‘Women Internship Program’
Under the Women Internship Program, whichpart of this project, highly trained women are made available to industry for internship with 6-month salary supportthe center. The Women’s Vision Center plans to expand this project to include specific local industrial fields in more citiescounties in the province.

Bus fares in Gyeonggi Province have recently increased. This was the result of a decisionthe provincial government after achieving an understanding of the financial difficulties facedbus companies, whose only other option was to close their operations.

The gas companies are threatening to discontinue their supply of fuel unless we settle our arrears. We are on the verge of closing our operations because we can see no way out.”
3) Cost of Fuel Rises
Rising diesel prices are another challenging factor. Since bus fares were frozen more than foura half years ago, the cost of fuel has risenmore than 40%.
4) Gyeonggi-do bus companies for a total cumulative deficit was KRW 2900 billion won
The total deficit sufferedall bus companies in Gyeonggi Province currently amounts to a staggering KRW 290 billion. This means operation of an ordinary bus results in an average daily loss of KRW 45,000. The recent decisionthe provincial government to raise bus fares was made only after carefully considering both the possible consequences of operation closures as well as the additional economic burden imposed on residents.

According to a recent survey, the number of women in Gyeonggi Province decreased among younger population segments but increased in senior population segments over 65 years of age. Gyeonggi Province plans to address the low birth rateaging trend among the female populationexpanding employment support for womenestablishing 24-hour public children’s homes.

The female population of Gyeonggi Provincenow more than five million, increasing1.2 million over the past 10 years. However, the age distribution of the female population reveals distinct trends of low birth ratesaging.

The number of women 15 years of age or younger decreased40,000 the number of those over the age of 65 increased270,000 over the past 10 years. Despite considerable increases in the overall female population, the economic participation rate of women increased only0.4%. Career interruption due to marriagechildbearing are considered major reasons for the decrease of employment among women.

Accordingly, Gyeonggi Province plans to develop an improved employment environment for women.
3) Public Children’s Homes in Industrial Regions
The provincial government will initially establish a number of 24-hour Children’s Homes, mainly in the industrial complex regions in the cities of Ansan (안산)Shiheung (시흥),gradually expand the project to other regions.

Concurrently, the Women’s Vision Center will be more extensively engaged in developing employment opportunitieseducation programs for women in cooperation with related organizationsindustries.

This festival consisted of various events such as the exhibition of successfully commercialized products, the presentation of success stories, the delivery of donationsthe presentation of special lecturesthe owners of successfully launched businesses.
2) 82 Booths Occupied46 New Enterprizes
In the exhibition hall, a total of 82 booths were set up for 46 successfully inaugurated businesses in the Successful New Business Section, the Women Entrepreneur Section, the Senior Entrepreneur Section,the New Mobile Business Section. The presentation of success stories was organized for the purpose of promoting friendly competition among new entrepreneurs as well as the sharing of experiences.
3) OptiSys Donates KRW 300 Million
One of the notable events during this festival was the donation of KRW 300 million the company Opti. This company was recently listed in the KOSDAQ stock exchange, but it was only two years ago that the company was established with the business inauguration support of the Small & Medium Business Center.

The G-Business Inauguration Project has so far assisted the launch of 262 new businesses, the creation of 692 new jobs, the acquisition of 402 intellectual property rights,the residency of 77 companies in the Business Incubation Center.

5) Lactobacillus Fermentation Solution for Foot-and-mouth Disease Prevention
A lactobacillus fermentation solution will be supplied tostock farms for the prevention of foot-and-mouth disease.
6) De-icing AgentsSnow Removal Equipment
The provincial government has already secured large quantities of de-icing agents such as calcium chloride as well as sandsnow removal equipment to prepare for heavy snowfalls.

There also was an investment MOU signing ceremony held between Gyeonggi ProvinceDescente Japan, a sportswear company. This company agreed to invest the equivalent of KRW 48.5 billion in the construction of a distribution center in the Wongok (원곡) Distribution Complex of Anseong (안성) City.
