During this inspection, members of the National Assemblyboth rulingopposition parties asked questions about foot-and-mouth disease follow-up measurespointed out problems with the management of animal burial sites.

“There are prevailing worries on the dangers of leachate leakagethe animal burial sites due to inappropriate management.”
The National Assembly members also mentioned the landslide incidents that occurred in Gyeonggi Province after heavy rainfalls in July,raised the issue of diverted land use in mountainous areas. National Assembly Member Kim Hak-yong (김학용) pointed out that the diverted use of mountainous areas occurs most frequently in Gyeonggi Provincewarned that such reckless usage may cause landslides.

A total of 27 programs will be operated in Yangpyeong (양평) CountyOctober 7th to 9th. These programs are open to individuals, familiesclubs.
With this festival, Gyeonggi Province aims to promote nationwide leisuresports activities as well as the local economy.

Title 3. Free Legal Service for Low-Income Brackets (0928-2)

Gyeonggi Province has been providing free legal services for people in low-income brackets since 2009. These services are now supported alsoseven legal institutes including the Gyeonggi Bar Association.

Gyeonggi Province has recently secured highly professional support for the free legal services it provides to economically underprivileged residents.
1) MOU for Legal Service Support / Gyeonggi Provincial Office Complex (September 21st)
Seven private legal organizations, including the Gyeonggi Bar AssociationSamsung (삼성) Legal Aid Services, agreed to provide support for this Free Legal Service Programsigned an MOU with Gyeonggi Province.
2) Free Legal Consultation, Legal Aid, Legal Education
There are many individuals in Korean society who are unable to access legal services simply because they cannot afford them or lack knowledge about legal rightsprocedures. According to this MOU, the Gyeonggi Provincial Governmentthe participating organizations will cooperate in finding such individuals in Gyeonggi Provincejointly provide them with legal service programs such as free consultation, aideducation on legal matters.
3) Legal Services in Diverse Specialized Areas
The joining of these high-caliber legal organizations in the Free Legal Service Programexpected to broaden the scope of legal services in a wide range of specialized areas.
4) Total 8,929 Cases HandledFree Legal Service Desk
Since its opening in 2009, the Free Legal Service Desk of Gyeonggi Province has provided 8,929 free consultations on legal, tax, laborrealty matters.

The DMZ Korean International Documentary Festival – or ‘DMZ Docs’ – that celebrates the themes of peace, lifecommunication, began its seven-day film competition. Already marking its third year, this festival has become an internationally recognized event in this unique film genre.

This year’s DMZ Docs features 101 documentary films30 countries around the world.
3) Dorasan Station, Symbolic Venue
The opening ceremony of this year’s festival was held at Dorasan (도라산) Station, the northern-most station of the South Korean section of the Seoul-Shinuijoo (신의주) Railway Line. This old stationactually located in the DMZ.

The winner of the international competition section of this festival, the grand prize which closed this festival on September 28th after seven days of festivities in Paju (파주) Book City, was Mexican director Tatiana Ueso’s A Small Village in Deep Mountains.
