1) ‘The Heart of Phoenix’: UAE Sharjah Culture & Art Exhibition / Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art (September 16th – November 20th)
The cultureart exhibition of Sharjah, one the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates, opened under the theme of ‘The Heart of Phoenix’ at the Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art. 150 artifacts including calligraphypersonal ornaments as well as art piecesthe most active contemporary artists in Sharjah were brought to the museum for Korean viewers.

The Emir of Sharjah, Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi, arrived in Korea on September 14th at the invitation of the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation. The Emir of Sharjah met Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Moon-soo (김문수)had friendly discussion on various topics including culturalart exchanges

A musical concert was held at a stock farm in Pocheon (포천) City of Gyeonggi Province.

While the sun slowly sinks over a mountain ridge, the eyesears of attending audience members are fixed on the picturesque sceneon the sweet musical melody.

An open-air concertunderway here in Pocheon (포천) City. The venue isan outdoor theater but instead a stock farm that survived the ordeal of foot-and-mouth disease that swept through Korea last winter.

Gyeonggi Province organized this open-air ‘Beautiful Stock Farm Concert’ at a stock farm for the purpose of boosting the moral of stricken farmerspromoting the Stock Farm Environment Improvement Project.

A variety of musical numbers were performedthe A&B Symphony Orchestra, the Jeongju (청주) Municipal Korean Classical Music Group,the Pocheon (포천) Municipal Choir as well asthe Stock Farmers Banda number of other performers. A 1,000-strong audience enjoyed beautiful music on an autumn evening. Gyeonggi Province has been promoting the Stock Farm Environment Improvement Project to help alleviate negative perceptions among consumers regarding stock farm productsboost public confidence in the domestic livestock industry.

The long road of Governor Kim behind the wheel of a taxi began in January of 2009 in Suwon (수원) City,he has finally served as a driver in31 citiescounties of Gyeonggi Province with this, his 28th run in 32 months.

So far, he has driven for 236 hourscovered over 3,000 km. Asked about how he felt about this mission, he simply said his initial purpose hasbeenwill never be forgotten.
