“Moralityimmortal but corruptionshort-lived”…Thisan adage frequently quoted in Gyeonggi Provincial offices. It signifies the importance of the morality of public officials. Gyeonggi Province organized a regional education tour to upgrade the morality standards of provincial officials.

A visiting regional education tour has been launched to provide provincial officials with education on audit cases to prevent irregularitiespromote morality in office practices.
2) Focus on Frequent Misconduct Cases
The Audit Cases Education Program was designed to remind provincial officials of frequently discovered misconduct cases in specialized areas such as personnel, tax collectionaccounting, in advance of a regional audit.

3) Gold Coast Project
Gyeonggi Province has designated the West Coast as a special zone for marine recreationtourism industry development,has been implementing the Gold Coast Project to drive such development. Cute little chipmunks run through passages suspended among treescolorful parrots on perches boast their beauty. This mini zoo opened in April this year as part of the Cherry Blossom Festivalis now home to seven animal species.
3) Resting Spot for Mountain Hikers
Since this mini zoolocated at the entrance to the Paldal (팔달) Mountain trail, it offers an ideal resting space for both local residentsmountain hikers. Together with the flowering passageway, whichnow at peak bloom, this zoo also serves as a good place for nature studychildren.

US military personnel in civilian clothes visit the Korean Folk Village in Yongin (용인) City. They are intriguedancient corporal punishment devices such as floggingleg-twisting instruments. Some of them even try to reenact the operationend up in ungainly positions. 1) Movie, ‘Peace’
This movie, titled ‘Peace’, was shown as a curtain raiser at last year’s DMZ International Documentary Festival. Produced with support of KRW 30 millionGyeonggi Province, this movie was praised for its originalitysuperior ution,was later invited to a number of prestigious international movie festivals.
2) Movie Production Support for Selected Entries
In this, the third DMZ International Documentary Festival, Gyeonggi Province plans to provide movie production support for the directors of pieces edamong the entries.
3) KRW 40-10 Million Support for Long-Medium Length Documentations
KRW 40 million each will be provided as production support for long documentaries of more than 40 minutes on the themes of peace, lifecommunication,KRW 10 million each will be provided for medium-length documentaries on social themes.

There will also be special support of KRW 1.5 million each for pieces producedyoung directors 20 years of age or younger who exhibit novel concepts. New talented directors with financial difficulties will be granted support of KRW 5 million each as well as free studio usage. A total of KRW 50 million will be granted to documentaries about regions of conflict.

For proper control of hypertension or diabetes, patients need to develop appropriate dietary habitsengage in regular physical exercise.

60-year-old Yang Bong-seok (양봉석) has been sufferinghypertension for the past eight years. Two years ago, he was hospitalized when he had cerebral infarctioncollapsed. This, his second hospitalization, may have been avoided he had engaged in hypertension treatment.

The number of hypertension patients in Korea increased4 million in 2005 to 5.3 million in 2009, representing an average annual increase of 7.2%. Medical costs for hypertension treatment also increased9.8% annually to KRW 2.3 trillion in 2009.
4) `Know Your Blood Pressure & Blood Sugar” Campaign at Ansan Subway Station (June 1st)
Gyeonggi Province designated the first day of every month as the ‘Know Your Blood PressureBlood Sugar Day’ so as to increase public awareness of hypertensiondiabetes. It has been conducting a campaignproviding provincial residents with health consultationblood pressureblood sugar measurement services.
5) [INTERVIEW] Kim Moon-yeong, Gyeonggi Province Health Policy Division
During the campaign, Gyeonggi Province will provide monthly medical support of KRW 4,500 for patients over 65 years of age diagnosed with hypertension or diabetes. Visiting residents were examined for excessive salt intake, which can cause hypertension or renal failure,invited to experience a low-sodium diet.
Hypertensiondiabetes treatment supportGyeonggi Province will initially be provided in four cities including Ansan (안산),will later be expanded to31 citiescounties of the province.
