Since residential occupation of Gwanggyo (광교) New Town willas early as June, securing transportation for long-distance commuting tofrom Seoul has become an urgent issue. Gyeonggi Province plans to open four new long-distance bus lines connecting Gwanggyo (광교) with downtown Seoul.

Residential occupation of Gwanggyo (광교) New Town begins in June. When occupationcomplete in 2014, an estimated 13,000 Gyeonggi residents are expected to travel tofrom Seoul daily.

Gyeonggi Province had been negotiating with Seoul to open four long-distance bus lines between Gwanggyo (광교)Seoul, but the request was declinedSeoul on the grounds of already heavy traffic congestion. Gyeonggi Province announced that it completed vaccination of477,491 livestock animals on 11,651 farms in the province that are at risk of contracting foot-and-mouth disease as well as 84% of the culling of infected animals.

The limit set for foreign worker employment permits for the first quarter was 22,900,half of this number has already been utilized for applications submitted over the past several days.
