In order to further strengthen public safety, Gyeonggi Province also announced that it will launch a remote schoolchild-locatingparent-notifying service, the ‘Anshim Allimie ” service, for 53,000 primary school children. 2.Gyeonggi Province will Lead the Smart Phone Market

With the smart phonemobile markets growing rapidly, we are entering an age of ‘information in the palm of one’s hand.’ Gyeonggi Province announced that it has signed a cooperation agreement for the development of the mobile contents industry with Samsung ElectronicsSK Telecom,will take part in the joint development of smart phone applications.

Gyeonggi Province signed a ‘Cooperation Agreement for the Development of the Mobile Contents Industry’ with Samsung ElectronicsSK Telecom,began working on the development of various OS-based smart phone applications for the convenience of the residents of Gyeonggi Province.
The residents of Gyeonggi Province will have access to various applications that provide useful information on, for example, mountain trailstourism, as well as existing applications such as the Gyeonggi LibraryGyeonggi Bus information applications.

3.Gyeonggi Province Supports Overseas Employment

In order to help young job seekers, Gyeonggi Province decided to provide active support for overseas employment candidates in cooperation with 5 universities in the province.

Gyeonggi Province began its move toward helping young job seekers find jobs overseas.
As part of its youth employment support, Gyeonggi Province signed an agreement with the Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRDK)5 universities in Gyeonggi Province to assist university students in their search for overseas employment in conjunction with HRDK’s Global Human Resources Cultivation Program.
Gyeonggi Province, the Human Resources Development Service of Korea5 universities in the province agreed to closely cooperate with each otherundertake their share of support.
There has been a growing interest in overseas employment since the Asian Financial Crisis of 1998,9,174 individuals are known to have left the country to find jobs overseas up to 2009.
This agreementpart of Gyeonggi Province’s efforts to provide young job seekers with employment supportis expected to become a milestone in boosting overseas employment.
After the assessment of the outcome of the program, Gyeonggi Province plans to invite participationmore universities in the future.
4. Pocheon MagkolliNow Protected as a Registered Trade Mark

Last November, a Japanese company registered Pocheon Magkolli as a trademark with the Japanese Patent Office. This triggered controversy in Korea regarding the protection of trademarks of area-specific brands.
The Pocheon Magkolli Producers Cooperative, which consists of nine magkolli producers in the Pocheon area, filed an application with the Korean Patent Office for registration of a ‘Group Trademark Indicative of a Geographic Name’ for Pocheon magkolli.
Registration of Pocheon Magkolli as an indicative geographic name willonly protect the names of Pocheon Magkolli brands butalso expected to upgrade the value of its trademark as well.
5.Farm-Experience Education Planner, a Popular Job for Women

The servicefor employment as a farm-experience education planner specializing in the planningoperation of farm-experience programs. Will this become a popular new job for women? 6. Title: Youths with Autism Became Assistant Librarians

A pilot program for a job provision project was launched to help young people with autism attending special schools in Gyeonggi Province to find employment with public libraries. The Gyeongin (경인) National University of Educationthe first national university to launch this program.

As an individual who has faced many challenges in life due to autism, workthe beginning of a new life.
Having started his work as a regular employee last April, Kang’s job has been to arrange books properly. Since he can remember the original places of the misplaced books, he was noted as being capable of performing the duties of an assistant librarian.
There are 22 autistic individualsKang who trained for assistant librarian work after graduatingspecial schools in Gyeonggi Province.
This program shows that itpossible for people with autism to successfully adapt to society. However, continuous public interesteffortnecessary in order to help them work as assistant librarians at the 2,150 libraries in Gyeonggi Province.
