1. Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi Begin Integrated Agreement

The local government of Gyeonggi, SeoulIncheon signed a win-win agreement for the joint development of the metropolitan area. Some discussed detailed development strategies will be uted.

Gyeonggi Provincial Governor Kim Mun-su, the mayor of Seoul Oh Sae-hunthe mayor of Incheon Ahn Sang-su signed an agreement for the development of finance holdings.

According to the agreement, the three local governments will cooperate in constructing a metropolitan transportationdistribution infrastructure, responding to environmental problems such as airwater pollutiontry to improve the rulesregulations of the metropolitan area.

Through this agreement, companies related to the GTX project, which was actively promotedGyeonggi Province, will gain momentum as SeoulIncheon officially agreed to cooperate.

The three local governments taking each others’ hands to strengthen the metropolitan competitive-edge through detailedrealistic ution will materialize the idea of a megacity which was dreamt upthe local governments.

2. GTX 1st Year Anniversary Announcement, Traffic Network Inspection

Gyeonggi Province made a proposal last April to construct a metropolitan Great Train Express, GTX, to solve the serious traffic jam problemsstrengthen the competitive edge of the metropolitan area.

A test run was conducted for the light rail subway which will open this June.

The Yeonggin light rail subway made of one carriage will be able to carry 226 peopleYeonggin Kiheung to Everland, a total of 181km.

Gyeonggi Province came up with a next generation growth projectan environmentally friendly project support policy. The Province will provide funding to the related companies.

The Province made an agreement with the Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation, Kookmin Bank to provide $438.6 million in aid to smallmedium sized companies that operate new growth power projectslow carbon green growth projects.

The support will be given to companies that have high growth power recommendedGyeonggi Province. Low interest of 4.5% to 6.13% with a maximum of $702,000 in support will be given.

Loan application will be receivedevery citycountry branch of the Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundationthe loan will be providedKookmin Bank.

The Province has already provided $27.2 million in support to construct a green growth funda customized loan guarantee policy for contents related companies such as gameanimation production companies.

The Province expects these businesses to contribute to economic growthjob creation for the development of a regionalnational economy.

4. No Crime City U-City Announcement

Ansan opened a U-City integrated control center to become a no crime city. Through the opening of the integrated control center the residents will be able to live in safety.

The opening ceremony of the U-City to become a no crime city was held in Ansan Gyeonggi Province.

Ansan has ended its Ubiquitous construction project that connects the city’s network 24 hours for managementnow has opened an integrated control center.

816 CCTVs were installed in areas such as crime prevention areas, school zones, forest fire danger zonesculture protection zonesan integrated management platform will be built.

The integrated control center will act as a leadermonitorthe CCTVs 24 hoursgathermanage the information.

Through close operation with private organizations, public security will improve inregions.

Opening the U-City integrated control center will bring about the prompt handling of cases in areastheremuch crime, accidentsdisasters. It will help protect the livesassets of residents.

Ansan expects that through the brand U-City it will be able to improve the regional economyforeign image.

5. Regional Child Care Center Execute Hope Book Project

There are around 600 regional child care centers in Gyeonggi Province. Itfor childrenfamilies that have difficulty studying after school. Since the education environmentinadequate for children there are shortage of books for them to read. Gyeonggi Province stepped up to solve the problems of the regional childcare center.

The children close the books they readlook around the bookshelf but most of them are oldwornout story books, so they aren`t any that grab their attention.

Currently in Gyeonggi Province almostof the 600 regional childcare centers possess small amount of books, 100 books,there arethat many new books which have been published in 3 years. This shows how bad the reading environment is.

Reflecting this reality, Gyeonggi Province will give out hope books to regional childcare center projects during two months, AprilMay.

The province plans to receive donations of booksfunds during the campaignwill send 100,000 second hand books10,000 new books to the centers.

We hope there will be bookshelves full of books in the childcare centers to bring out the children`s dreams.

6. Disaster Sites, Rescue Dogs Performance Extraordinary

Saving valuable lives in different disaster sites isonly the rescue workers` job. The work of rescue dogsamazing. Lets look at how courageous they are.

There are 17 rescue dogs nationwidethey have to be able to take 5 hours of high level training a day for disasters such as building collapsesaccidents taking place in the mountains.

Rescue dogs were part of 50 cases last yearhelped find 2 survivors4 corpses. They are brought to the mountains for night searches recently to search for those with alzheimers, who have lost their way in the mountain.

To prepare for natural disastersdamages, training many rescue dogs will vitalize the disaster sites during real rescue work.

7. Admire Cherry Blossoms In Gyeonggi Provincial Offic Again This Year (
