A traditional soy sauce making event was held to introduce Korean food culture to women who have left their home countries to live in Korea.

Womenmulti-cultural families stepped up to make traditional soy sauce at the Traditional Soy Sauce Work-Site in Anseong, Gyeonggi.
The womenmulti-cultural families were able to feel Korean sentiments through making their own traditional soy saucecleaning fermented soybeans to making one full crock of salt water.
Gyeonggi Province Agricultural Research & Extension Service held this event for the womenmulti-cultured families to be familiar with Korean food culture.
There are around 27,000 marriage immigrants in Gyeonggi.
Experiencinglearning Korean culture will be valuable to them as they can deeply understand the culture of their 2nd home, Korea.
2. Hope Re-Born Project Builds Up Self-Support Ability

Those who participated in the hope re-born projectfound new life last year gathered together.
The project helps them recover their confidencehappiness through providing them with 1:1 mentor consultationin-depth management to allow them to stand up on their own.
Last year 672 out of 1,000 people succeeded in finding jobs through the project utedthe Ministry for Health, Welfare & Family Affairs.
Through this outcome, the Province, the Gyeonggi Welfare Foundation, the Gyeonggi Federation of Economic Organizationsthe Gyeonggi Province Self-Sufficiency Center agreed to build a welfare collaboration jobs for low income groups.
3. Rise Of Customized Welfare For The Disabled

Gyeonggi Provinceplanning to bring out a customized welfare policy for the disabled who have passion to study even with the discomfort of their bodies.

Mr. Seok, who has congenital cerebral palsya malformation of his lower body, has re-gained the motivation to live.
With the help of volunteers, Mr. Seok started to study in 2006was able to complete elementarymiddle school courses through the school qualification examinationhenow studying high school courses.
He isyounghas physical discomfort, but no one can stop his passion for learning.
After hearing about Mr. Seok’s situation, through the Gyeonggi Self-Sufficiency Engineering Service Research Center, Gyeonggi supported him with a customized computer worktable.
Although Mr. Seok isthat proficient in using the computer, the computer which was customized according to his physical state will be of great help to him.
The Province plans to move forward with a welfare policy which focuses on the disabled characteristicssupporting them with customized aid.
4. Namyangju Organic Complex Different From The Truth

Biogasknown as a future new energy using metagas extractedfood wastes or lifestock wastes. Gyeonggi Province plans to construct 13 biogas plants2020.

Around 8,000 pigs discharge 30 tons of waste a day in whichfermentedproduces metgas.

The production of metagaspurified to biogasthis energyused to operate plant generatorsboilers. 720kw/h of biogas produced per day.
There are plants in 5 districts in the Province such as AnseongIcheon.
Gyeonggi plans to construct 13 more plants2020.
The basis of ion for the biogas plantrestricted to over 10,000 pigsa 2,000 pyeong of plant plots.
If 20 biogas plants are constructed according to plan, the metagas will be sold to the Korea Electric Power Corporation which will bring in $8,500,000 of yearly profitprevent global warming through the efficient disposition of lifestock waste.
6. First Bus For The Disabled & Pregnant Women

It iseasy for the disabledpregnant women to use busses that have steep stairs. Gyeonggi Province launched the first urban bus that has many improvements such as lowering the floor of bus bodies24cm.

Mr. Ji Rae-yong who has disability in the lower part of his body gets onto the low-floor bus.
Not onlythe bus body lowered24cm, therea foothold for a wheelchair to move easily onto the bus.
Device to automatically fix the wheel of wheelchairalso installed to prevent slipping.
28 out of the 215 low-floor buses introduced this year will have improvements in designfunction.

Since therea camera installed in the bus, the driver will be able to look after the passengers. 6 automatic transmission gears will also be able to reduce any impact.
The bus bodyproduced with light weight glass material which makes the bus 2 tons lighter than the high-floor busreduces gas usage20%.
By 2014 the Province plans to replace 2,400 city buses to low-floor buses.
