1. Korea Leaps Forward As Comics & Animation Hub

Gyeonggi Province stepped forward to promote a future high value added industry, comicsanimation. The Province plans to actively support Bucheon as a center of the comicsanimation industry.

Gyeonggi Province will step forward to strengthen the comicsanimation cluster in Bucheon. 

The Province plans to push forward with improving the consumption pattern of comicsanimation through achieving synergy through other genressupporting the major content sources of the comicsanimation industry, expanding distribution networksbreaking into the foreign markets. 

Moreover, the Gyeonggi Digital Contents Agencythe Korea Manhwa Contents Agency plans to enter a partnership in helping with the Gyeonggi Province’s comicsanimation project. 

The project supports comicsanimation production support for the best content forgenresa non local comics’ distribution network support.  

The Province expects that through the two agency network, infra exchangeactive mutual cooperation, the comicsanimation project will be pushed forward efficiently. 

Gyeonggi Province opened the 1st Korea Serious Festival in Seongnam last Septemberwill hold the 12th Bucheon International Comics Festival which shows that itputting on great efforts to promote the future high value added contents industry. 

2. Sogang University-Gyeonggi Province And Namyangju MOU

Gyeonggi Provincemoving forward in attracting Korea’s Ivy League universities. Gyeonggi Province succeeded in attracting the Seoul National University campusnow has succeeded in attracting the Sogang University campus.

The Sogang University campus will be constructed in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province. 

Gyeonggi Province signed a memorandum of understanding for the construction of the Sogang University campus in Namyangjuyear 2015. 

Sogang University campus will be built in the region of Yangjeong-dongWabu Town in Namyangju. It will be environment-friendly with global-oriented academies such as future convergence studies to accommodate international exchange programs. It will also ute research-centered skillsretaining the research centers. 

Sogang University plans to provide a utilization plans for the 2020 University Improvement Planestablish a concrete plan for the relocation of the university before purchasing the land. 

The Namyangju campusclose to Seoul, has a great academic atmosphere due to the natural environment helping it to develop as a research-centered university as it has a spacious campus unlike the smallcramped areas in Seoul. 

Not only will Gyeonggi Province provide extensive education opportunities for residents with retaining universitiesresearch centers in Siheung, Goyang, UijongbuPaju, it will also help develop the regionrevitalize the economy. 

3. Employment Success, Job Skills Take Priority Over High Education

They say it’s hard to find a job nowadays but it’s the contrary for Gyeonggido Technical Institute grads. 9 out of 10 students who completed the institute have succeeded in finding a job, which shows high employment rate. The admission rate for junior college graduates or those with higher degrees has increased as well.

Gyeonggido Technical Institute, a vocational education institute,operatedGyeonggi Province. 

There are 5 departments such as the department of electric powerthe department of engineer motor vehicle maintenance. There are two courses, a 1 year coursea 6 month short-term course in which 600 engineers are educated every year.  

Students obtain 2 certificatesan over 85% employment rateachieved annually. 

The ratio of university graduates admitted to the technical institute has increased as well. 

The trend of the Gyeonggi Province technical institute provides free tuition, but charges a $173 education fee every month. 

Young people are obtaining professional skills to break through the extreme unemployment crisis. 

The Gyeonggido Technical Institute plans to 230 newcomers for the 1st year course60 newcomers for the 6 months course this year. 

4. Hope Re-born Project

It iseasy for thosea lower class to find a jobto get out of poverty. However, the hope re-born project was established last year to help the low income group support themselves.

Kim Dae-hyun lives with his two daughters after his business went bankrupt. He found a new life last year after finding a job in the security business. 

The Gyeonggi Province Work Support One-Stop Center has helped him to stand uphimself after his business failed. 

He was able to re-discover his life`s motivationwork through a one on one consultationmanagementhis extraordinary independence. 

Gyeonggi Province uted the hope re-born project last year to support the low income bracket people in poverty to be able to stand up on their own.  

The resultthe testing operation last year shows that 657 participants were able to succeed in finding a job. 

Those that are in difficult situations have new life planshopes after participating in the hope re-born project. 

5. Hope Labor Project Swarmed with Elderly

The hope labor project which will be uted next monthswarming with many elderly over 60 years old. Itcrucial to find safety measures as there are continuous smallbig accidents occurring.

The hope labor project will be uted for four months startingMarch 2nd
to June 30th. 

However, the applications resulted in 82,580 people showing a 4:1 competition rate.  

This occurrencedue to the fact that thereno age restriction so, many elderly applyas long as one works for 6 months they area able to receive unemployment benefits. 

Since many elderly crowded in for the hope labor project, there were 8 deaths600 people injured last year. 

Gyeonggi Province will prepare measureslimiting work hours8 to 4 hours a dayuting safety education once a month for 2 hours for those over 65 years old.  

6. High Quality Job Creation Through Scientific Technology Field Investment

Gyeonggi Province, the main force of creating jobs for residents plans to invest in the field of scientific technology to procure high quality jobs.

Different areas of scientific technology such as medicine, roboticsspace enrich our lives.

Gyeonggi Province securing 32% of researchers, amounting to 97,000 researchers nationwide, will actively try to induce government-run projects for the researchdevelopment field whicpected to many jobs in the future. 

7. $43 Reward For Reporting ‘Closed Down Emergency Exit’

Buildings that contain many people must have fire fighting facilities for emergency circumstances. People will receive rewards for reporting damaged facilitiesJune.

If there were no fire prevention facilities, this could have ended up in a big disaster. 

To ensure the residents’ safetyprotect their assets, Gyeonggi Province plans to operate a reporting reward tem for illegal actions such as closing down emergency exits.  

Buildings that many people often use must have emergency stairs that lead to emergency exitsitmandatory to install hydrantsfire extinguishers. 

Therefore, emergency exits that have been shut down or a piling things up in front of them are considered illegal.
