▶ 76% of residents approve the simultaneous construction of the GTX

According to a public opinion poll on Gyeonggi`s GTX business, about 76% of the residents living in the metropolitan area approved of the simultaneous construction.

Eight out of ten residents who live in the metropolitan area gave positive remarks regarding the construction ofthree routes of the GTX at the same time.

Gyeonggi province has conducted a poll of 1,500 adults, who live in Gyeonggi, Seoul,Incheon, about their opinions regarding the GTX business. The results show, 76% believe thatthree GTX routes should be built at once in order to resolve current traffic problems.

Also, the poll showed that Incheon had the highest approval rate; GyeonggiSeoul followed.

A survey of residents on the routes of Uijeongbu~GeumjeongCheongnyangni~Songdo, excluding the Gangnam-Dongtan route, also showed similar results.

78% ofrespondents approved the concurrent construction ofthree routes. Especially, the Uijeongbu~Geumjeong route ranked as the most needed route.

The anticipations of metropolitan residents that the GTX would solve the problems of trafficSeoul`s overcrowding were clearly shown in this survey.

Gyeonggi was the only province to host the Sign Language Contest of public officials. Itthe tenth contest this year.

The Sign Language Contest would allow more public officials to understand the deaf,in the long term, would help build a society thatopen topeople of different backgrounds.

▶ Autumn displays, `Mulhyanggi Meets Water Painting`

It would be good to visit an art gallery especially at this time of year. An exhibit full of autumn flavornow on display.

The exhibit will take place till September 27th at the Gyeonggi Provincial Mulhyanggi Arboretum.

In November, the Arboretumgoing to hold a large scale exhibition of the works of Osan artists, intended to invigorate local art circles.
