The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy organized a public-private consultation meeting aimed at seeking ways to be prepared for the adoption of the European Critical Raw Material Act. The European Commission recently came up with this new legislative proposal and plans to release the draft by the first quarter of 2023. Along with the US Inflation Reduction Act, the European RMA seeks to lessen dependency on other countries and strengthen intra-regional supply chain. The South Korean government is committed to closely monitoring the development of the act, staying in touch with businesses to assist them, and discussing with Brussels.
