Everland will host the New Year’s Day Folk Festival during the New Year holiday period from February 18 to 22. This festival will be characterized by rich experiential programs and traditional Korean performances that the whole family can enjoy together. First, in Carnival Square, a hands-on folk games event will be staged so that people can experience a number of traditional games such as Yunnori, Jegichagi and Sangmo twirling; old folk items such as mortars and millstones will also be displayed. From February 18 to 21, in the animal-riding zone, calligraphers will exhibit images of sheep in ink wash paintings for the Year of Sheep and present paintings of sheep to 3 people every day. There will also be an event in which one can experience the writing of a family motto and the drawing of the Four Gracious Plants together with 4 calligraphers. In addition, there will photo opportunities with ‘Lisa’, a sheep character of Everland, who will appear in traditional Korean attire and pose for pictures with visitors in Carnival Square twice a day.

During the holiday period, in the warm indoor venue of ‘Grand Stage’, various Korean traditional performances will be offered. First, on February 18 and 19, a traditional drum performance called ‘Hwago’ that features the playing of 1.5-meter super-drums with glowing drumsticks will be staged twice a day. The players will wear LED costumes and play the LED drum Nanta to ensure a spectacular fire-and-light performance.

Everland provides various tailored services including Chinese announcements and guide maps, and has prepared a foreigner-exclusive ticket office at the main gate to ensure professional service. From February 18 to 22, Everland will hold the ‘Hongbao’ scratch coupon event for Chinese visitors and present generous gifts such as quantities of gold, round-trip plane tickets for China, drawing show tickets and vouchers for Bean Pole outdoor clothing. Through a special discount event for foreigners from February 13 to 28, non-Korean nationals can enjoy Everland for KRW 23,000 won and Caribbean Bay for KRW 17,000 won, representing savings of approximately 50% compared to normal prices.
