The 2016 DMZ Art Competition gets under way for elementary, middle, and high school students – children who will become our future – to remind us of the significance of Korean reunification, peace, and the DMZ. This event offers a chance to pray for peace and harmony in the DMZ, a place that has overcome the pain of war and has been reborn as a land of life, and so we ask for your interest and participation.
❍ Event: 2016 DMZ Art Competition
❍ Time and Date: 10:00-16:30, August 15 (Mon) 2016
❍ Venue: Area near Horogoru Fortress in Yeoncheon (inside venue for Yeoncheon Sunflower Festival)
❍ Target audience: 300 elementary, middle, and high school students nationwide
– Elementary school division (grades 4 to 6) 100 students, middle school division 100 students, high school division 100 students
❍ Host/supervision: Gyeonggi Province/Gyeonggi Tourism Organization
❍ Sponsor: The Kyeongin Ilbo, Yeoncheon County, Kyungbok University
1. Applications
(1) Duration: 0:00 on July 26 (Tue) to 24:00 on August 10 (Wed), 2016
(2) Application method: Download application form from Gyeonggi Province’s DMZ official website (http://dmz.gg.go.kr/), fill out form, sign it, and send scanned copy via email
※ If the competition receives enough applications for each division during the application period, application acceptance will end early, so please check the application period on the website.
(3) Shuttle bus: Shuttle buses will operate for contestants, so please indicate your preference on your application form (total of three areas)
– Daegok Station, Exit no. 3 (Line no. 3 & Gyeongui line)
– Dongducheon Station, Exit no. 1 (Line no. 1)
– Parking lot of Gyeonggi Provincial Government Northern Complex
