- Symbol of loyalty and sacrifices for the country Nogangseowon Confucian Academy
- Located in Jangam-dong of Uijeongbu, the Nogangseowon Confucian Academy is one of the private educational Confucian institutions of the Joseon Dynasty. It has been designated as Gyeonggi Province Monument No. 41 and was built in honor of Jeongjae Park Tae-bo, a loyal subject of the Joseon Dynasty. Its original name was Punggyesa Temple, and was later changed to its present name. The hongsalmun (red gates) erected at the entrance of a Confucian academy can also be found at the entrances of local Confucian school and royal tombs, and have a symbolic meaning of driving away evil spirits and misfortunes.
